So I really hate plastic clips. And not that they are broken I was wondering what would be the best option for replacement? Amazon has some bright looking LED plug and play assemblies for about $20.

anyone else have suggestions? I searched and all the links to previous purchases seem to be dead now.

Thanks

Are you talking about these? I have some $20 ones from Amazon, they’re an incredible upgrade! So much brighter than stock and they’re actually useful at night.

Yep, those are the lights I am talking about. Do you remember the seller or brand you have? I will order them. Thanks

I was just looking at doing mine. I read those were almost too bright, but I’m thinking of trying them as well.

I had the Amazon lights for a little while. I thought they were too bright as well so I toned them down with some modelers spray window tint. But still, the fit wasn't all that nice either. So I eventually cleaned up my originals, and put them back in. My plate is on the spare anyway with no lights.

I don't want too bright either. I just have one that is hanging down by the wiring because the clip is broken. May just rig it back inside the housing since its out of sight.

Amazon product ASIN B07GV9PD6L
They're bright for sure. But they match the HIDs and LED lighting elsewhere if you've gone that far down the rabbit hole.
Haven't gone all the way with LED throughout. Its my daughters vehicle and she is happy with what is there. May do it in my Cruiser though. Do you recommend?

My high beams are LED, and low beams HID. Fog lights are also LED, and the taillights as well. So for me, it made a lot of sense to match things. But I still didn't replace them until one burned out.

On its face, it's an easy $20. But were it not for the matching, I don't think I'd find much value in it. It's just a brighter version of what's already there, and a lot colder/whiter quality of light. Unless you're @LARRYG36, and nothing is there at all. Then it makes a ton of sense.

if the led goes out in the amazon 20$ ones or the amazon 13$ ones you're sort of stuck with that board if it's DOA (returnable) or the leds go out. That's the on;y downside I think. Kind of like the 3rd brake light, if it doesn't light up there aren't many options.
the real toyota ones are 12$ each lens and plastic, 8127160332 the other numbers 330, 331 are discontinued. Those bulbs I think you can buy at almost any store for 5$ each. Rock auto for cheaper If I remember right. Regular plug in, same as some of the other ones in the car. Map lights? Not the rear overhead or the door lights though.
I would just add both to a bigger part souq order unless your local dealer sells them for 14$ each. ALso used in the 200s and the gx. Junk yard maybe. The clips get pretty weak if you take them out 3 or 4 times. MIne are at least.

W5W bulbs needed for the Toyota one. I've just swaped my non working ones. Also gave a clean to the Toyota lens with some soapy water and cotton ear buds. They've came out pretty good. I don't like leds, because they're too bright (and also illegal here where I live), but if the lenses are fine, you can find W5W led bulbs as well.. I've seen those flicker though in my other car (Prius), so got rid of them. BTW, to remove the Toyota lens, you just grab it and pull it to one (don't remember which but the one that goes to) side to unclip.

I don't like bright license plate lights either. I bought some LED bulbs online, I think 4k color and they came out good. Not yellow but not too white/bright. I read here on Mud, if you live where it snows, to just use regular bulbs so they will melt the snow around your license plate. The LED's don't get warm enough to do that.
