License Plate Light Mounting On Spare Tire Carrier?? Looking for ideas!

Get the JDM spare tire bracket, they have two different types,

One for the rear fog light same as the below pic and the other one for the license plate. Or you can modify the rear fog light bracket to get the license plate install right underneath the light

Yup, but i dont care for the hi-lift bracket on the slee bumper (it slides around as it is now) and i am thinking of redoing it. Looking at options where i could move the hi-lift mount AND use the JDM relocator.

Are you using Slee's new bumper with the tire centered to the truck? If so the JDM licence plate holder may not work??

80's era Monteros have a cool license plate light that is just a box with a light and an emblem area that can be left blank or filled with your favorite smartass statement. It's very generic and adaptable. Check your boneyard or I might have one in one of the many moving boxes stacked in my garage. I had several of them before I moved.
I once designed a tire carrier that used one of those and a water tap bottle like the rectangular one you put in the fridge. I hid the water tap behind a metal panel on the carrier and mounted the license light and plate on the panel. With the carrier open, it provided running water on the trail for feeding the dog, washing hands, etc. I miss it, and wish I had a pic. The guy who bought my Montero uses the water tap every day. Running water is a wonderful invention.
It is just a bent piece of 1/16" steel with a tie strap to hold the water bottle. When I get all my crap out of boxes I'll build one ant post a pic.

I used a 12 '' long by 3/4 wide piece of Alum. c channel screwed to the original holes so the rest of it extends past the tire, then two more holes to mount the plate. The light reaches just fine in the stock location and still sits in the tailgate indentation. looks just like Hatman, but no drilling the tailgate. $2.50....... like a sore d@#$, can't beat it !

got my slee bumper installed (most impressive) and the license plate led thingys were destroyed on the way home or by the PO, unsure.

anyway, i am looking for ideas on license plate lights to mount to this thing. maybe from a trailer or something?

any pics of what others have used for their setups?

I took the spare tire light mount from Sun Performance Systems and modified it to use as a rear plate/light mount on-road, and a shovel carrier off-road. Basically, you can put any 1" square tube in the mount, so anything you can attach to 1" tubing can be used.

Nah, i am selling it, i want the plate on the rear tire, it acts as a tiny theft deterrent too!

I was wondering the same thing recently and found this thread. $36 for this frame and mini LED bar. It's made for Jeeps but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to mod it to fit whatever tire swing out you run.
