The GTR is an awesome vehicle but has it's limitations as well. As I recall if the launch controls are set to maximum the factory will only warranty the vehicle for 4 such starts. The transmission simply could not handle the combination of power and 4 wheel traction. It certainly is not as refined a car as the LFA.

Are there faster, quicker, better handling cars out there? Certainly but few, if any, combine all of these traits into a single package. For all of you who watch the British Top Gear (the best version by the way) not only does the "Stig" feel it is the best car in the world but the shows host, Clarkson, would take this car, in a dark blue, above any other car in the world. You have to watch the shows to appreciate the statement, especially after they first drove the car and mocked it... A LEXUS super car??? Clarkson even panned that you could buy 4 GTRs for the price of an LFA. His opinion certainly changed after he drove the vehicle, something most of us will never enjoy.

re The GTR launch issues; yeah, broke many transmissions on the first release. They have since fixed it; reducing torque application rate during launch, and ended up making it launch faster. The later models added HP and even better launch profiles. The warranty, as I understand it, is void if the car is used for drag racing events. I haven't heard the 'count' limit before, but would imply you shouldn't go out and drag race on Friday night. Brings to mind, there was a show with Jay Leno, who has driven quite a few nice cars including the Veyron, was grinning ear to ear while driving the GTR around LA.

The LFA is definitely a nice looking car on paper; and may be the supreme road car for those lucky enough to own one. The distinct mid six figure price tag places it out of reach of mere mortals - so does it really matter what it is or who made it? Add, a $10,000 motorcycle will run circles around it...

This reminds me of what a friend once said: "The only guys that will really enjoy the capabilities of such cars are the lot attendants and the thieves that steal them for joy rides."
