I just purchased and installed a front toytec adj coilover suspension to my 2007 FJ. I went to Meineke to have it installed. The short story, weather was bad and they had the best price quote to install and align and was the closest to where i live. It apears they have not done this before or often. It took them 2 days. The first day the completed the job but lowered the suspension to stock and it was not leveled. I went back the second day and they raised the front up to level it. When I went back the second time I brought a few print out pics of a level fj and stated this is what I am looking for. They re-adjusted the front suspension and it looks lvl. Later when I go home I took a measurement from the ground to the bottom of the fenders. The front sets about 1/2" higher then the back. I plan to add the front skids TRD to replace the OME. I dont know if it weights more to bring the front down or if I need to give the shocks time to settle. I dont plan to bring it back if I need to adjust then suspension I plan to lower it 1/2" if necassary. I could use any feed back or thoughts on this matter.

PS. Meineke attempted to do the job the best they could and they where very nice to me, they took the time to do the job and didnt charge me for the 2nd day of service.

Thanks,

Blake

If it were me, I'd let it settle for some time before making any adjustments.

When it comes to the skid plate, I assume you meant "OEM" not OME, Old Man Emu doesn't make a skid plate for the FJC that I know of.

I'm unaware of any difference between the OEM skid plates on any of the models of FJC. Looking at the skid plate on-line, I see no difference between what is called the "TRD" skid plate and the stock but for some additional holes. I'd look at other options if you really want skid plate protection than anything from Toyota since they aren't really made to protect.

Hope this helps...
