I’m going to change the fluids in the 100 before the trip down to Moab, looking for feedback on recommended oils and fluids.

I use Toyota red in my cooling system. And I use regular Dino-juice in the engine. I just replaced all my power steering and flushed the brakes this winter.

What do you guys recommend for the transmission? I’ll likely replace the 2-3 quarts with each oil change vs a flush.

Also, I want new gear oil in the diffs and x-fer case. I have a rear locker is there any fluids to avoid? I was looking at what Lucas and Royal Purple had to offer but my head started spinning.

Thanks!

it's been a bit since I did the wifes LX, I looked in the owners manual and used what was recommended there. IIRCC the transfer was different than the diffs

I've been using premium dino-juice in mine and that 13.2 mpg hurts my soul. It needs a louder exhaust so that I can at least enjoy the sound while it eats my money.

Haha! Yeah 360k on the clock now… hoping for some wonder juice to help me to 500k

Mobile 1 gear oil is a solid product, you can get brain damage researching all of the different brands out there.

I change my rear differential fluid yearly as it easily sees the most abuse and it's cheap insurance. Seeing the condition of the fluid can also head off major failures.
