So let's get down to some real data. Thus far I don't find any while I'm searching.

I want to start a poll on AHC failures and I am currently asking the variables we poll on, so we get meaningful data. My first thoughts are:

  • My AHC equipped truck is totally stock and has had no problems
  • My AHC equipped truck is totally stock and has had a failure
  • My AHC truck is significantly modified (bumpers, sliders, drawers, other sources of significant weight) and has had no problems
  • My AHC truck is significantly modified and has had a failure

Other ideas to include in the poll?

TIA

no failure and modded. 200k miles, knock on wood.

Sorry, I should clarify.

I will set up the poll after this posting and we can all respond. For the moment, I would like your input on what options we include on the poll.

Anything else other than the options above that we should include?

AHC pump failed at 135k miles. Use AHC all the time. Tow heavy loads and heavy cargo. No mods. It was just over $200 and easy enough to replace.

Seems to me like you are trying to capture the following variables for AHC equipped vehicles:

Failed/NotFailed
Stock/Slight Mods (No significant weight)/Heavily Modded (Significant weight)
Normal Load/Heavy Load
Failed Mileage

This way you could make statements like 80% of heavily loaded vehicles which are stock dont experience AHC failures...(based on the data set..:-))

I dont know the types of polls ih8mud allows you to setup but it would be cool if you could do multi variable polls.

OK, I'm already altering the options above. Please review. There is no way to gather mileage data within the polling feature, to the best of my knowledge. That would have to come via replies.

I'd be very interested to see the poll results. 1998 243K no mods no problems knock on wood.

so end this thread, and lets start the poll already. :)

It would be cool (and useful) to see a scatter plot
(https://support.google.com/drive/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=190724)

Where the mileage are on the left and the age is on the bottom and the dots could be red showing where the failure happened or green if yours is still going strong.

I think I could set it up as a google doc that people could just add their info to a new line:
name, mileage, year of uzj100, ahc working=true or false

and the plot could be self generating.

dunno how much work people wanna put into it :-) (i'm amazed by some of the engineering and technical stuff on here though)
I'll set it up if there's interest...
