So I guess for a true 200A output, the Leece Neville alternators are the way to go. But of course things can never be easy for 60 owners, so I just wanted to know what's involved in going from the stock setup on a 2F to happily going down the road with a bunch of crap running while still charging the battery! First of all, what's the best model for a 200A application? On eBay there's a lot of different models it looks like. What's the most popular for the Land Cruiser owner? Also, is the wiring any different from the stock setup? Should there be a jumper directly between the alternator and the battery? It'd be nice to keep the voltmeter and the charge light, don't know if these would go. And lastly, what has to be done as far as the bracket? Of course pics are always helpful. Thanks!

Where did you find this monster. I didn't know LN was still in business. Its relly hi quality equipment. I have used in marine applications. 100 A. sounds like serious overkill, but I don't know your Application. I would definately upgrade the charging leads The light and voltmeter should work normally If this is a 12V. unit. I have no Idea what mounting problems you would runn into.
Have you looked into a 50A. aftermarket unite that will bolt right in?

200amps! what do you want to do with that baby - weld heavy steel? Are you aware that it takes around 1 horsepower off the engine to produce every 10 amps. I have a Bosch 120 amp alt on my 3F, it can stall the motor at idle with all the spotlights on...

Well I don't know much about alternators, but I do know that mine isn't doing its thing anymore. At idle with ONLY the lights on it seems like it quits and pretty much pegs down. Below the red line. I have 4 55W Hella's on the rack, 2 100W up front, and 55W reverse lights on the back. Also have a radio, but not REALLY thumpin. I'd just like to use all of these things plus the heater, maybe the windshield wipers, etc... and still be charging. So would 160 be a little more appropriate?
