LED Tail Lamps For FJ100

I found this on eBay and wonder if anyone has tried it yet. Looks really c l to me, LED tail lamps finally for us:

Does anyone know where is it made and is it safe?

If you're worried about having them say "SAE" or "DOT" on them, then I would not get them. I've looked at the LED rears for the 80 and it does not say either one of those on them anywhere.

But I know that at least the ones for the 80 are roadworthy (will pass inspection legally) w/o any issues. That is not to say that you would not be ticketed in your neck of the woods, especially in Canada. ;p

I also noticed on that link it says, in fine print, Disclaimers: For off-road or show purpose only.

A lot of the aftermarket lights/lenses are manufactured in Taiwan, but the seller of these lenses is located in Hong Kong.

The ones I've seen here which I would not be surprised if they were the same things are for the early ('98-'00-ish?) 100. You "should" be able to put them on no problem w/o any modifications.

The mid 100 (the current model is the "late" model) will require the back-up light housing part to be ground slightly for the socket to get in (All of these info. are according to one of the sellers, and/so I don't have any first-hand knowledge).

Yeah, I see it's not DOT and SAE approved. It did say E-marked stamped. Is this the european standard to DOT and SAE as i recalled?

OK so has anyone got these? Will they make the light failure light come on? At this price they should work perfect.
