Yeah fair call but I'm yet to see the WRC cars fitted with light bars.....yet

Never seen WRC or Dakar have a night stage, at least not in a very long time.

Baja 1000 is mostly run at night for the fast teams I believe, and they use LEDs everywhere.

24h @ la mans is using LEDs and migrating to lasers

Can you elaborate on this?
Johnny my experience has been that when you have a light source close to your head. Shadows from rocks, or pot holes regardless of size look all the same in height and depth.

@weak-link brings up a good point.
This issue goes away when more light from different angles come into play.

I love it!
I think down low would be better as well!

P.S. I was just at the Mint 400 in vegas, and everyone was running LED's on their trucks. Long gone are the days of the KC daylighters.
I mean some trucks were covered in them!

Up vs down low, if you do not have a good variation of lights it's all gonna cast huge shadows. LED bars are a great addition to your headlights. Mounted up high or down low.

Up high is not as much use in the fog or dust, but you do have regular headlights when they are not as useful.

I love LED bars. The light output is stupid, and with reflector technology getting better, It's gettin stupider ;)

This is my setup and I love it! any more light would be a waste of money. Only bad thing is adjusting your eyes after turning them off for oncoming traffic. Lights up deer's eyeballs a mile away! 20" rigid single row in the grill and I forget what the other's are.

Heres my Rigid 10 inch Flood-Spot

I had my Rigid sr2 like this over the last winter, was a good location.
It's combo, mostly spot 30' wide.
I ordered it in 30 hoping I could fit it behind the grille, but that will need some work.
It's also practical to have it there, in the open, since I often pop the amber lenses on for snowy conditions, that would be a pain if behind the grille or on the roof.

Also have a few vids on it, is a shame the video does no justice to how bright they are!
