The PFran set I just got has the same problem - smoking door bulbs. I think he has a problem, then. I'm going to have to call.

I have a set I received about a week ago that I have not installed. Not really wanting to even F with it and just send it back...for the price I would expect a high quality not smoking junk.

I love the guy, but the quality of the bulbs leaves a lot to be desired. Take a look at the photo with the bulbs together. It's cheap.

But to be fair, that's an issue that happens every once n a while, and retailers are more than happy to swap them out for you.

Also, there's no such thing as quality anymore. This is all Chinese made junk. Thanks to a market that rewards the cheapest product.

Here they are,i'll be referring to super bright leds as SBL.
Left to right. Pfran, VLED (from Matserelli), SBL #2 6k , SBL#1 6k

I have had good luck with cheap LED (about $1-2 per pair) from random Chinese/Hong Kong sellers on Ebay. I think I have had 2 out of ~50 that does not work on arrival, and they promptly return my payment. I am not too worried considering how much I paid for them anyway.

I am kinda obsessed trying to find the brightest one for doors and cargo lights. I agree the brightest is LED that look like SBL#1 or the one that has cree chip.

As for the Dome lights, nothing beats the pfran panels. Sbl doesn't offer them.

I had some bright LEDs for the dome or map lights, but imo too bright here is not good. I find it messing up my night vision when someone turn it on and I am driving. I may try red LED, but for now we have the regular bulb.

Then stick with the sbl #2 that I mentioned above. They're about as bright as oem

I wouldnt say they're junk - the dome panels are worth it alone. The light output is just surreal. Plus, who knows, you might have gotten the new batch which has no issues I was notified that mine is on the way.

I appreciate the view point. I am okay with the idea of giving them a try . Its just kinda funny installing something you know might smoke as soon as you turn it on. Hey, the bright side is you install just one and try it vs. getting them all in and having change them all out. I would think that the whole batch should be recalled and customers contacted instead of wait and see.

I'm not sure its worth it for just the domes actually. The domes are the only thing I'm going to end up using out of the kit as I'm on my second set of failed large towers (doors) and I don't really have a lot of trust now. So $50 for both my dome lights isn't worth it in my opinion. Oh well.

Just as an update - got the updated batch and installed them... and left all doors and lights on for about 20 mins as I did other work on the car. No issues! Can't wait to use on our upcoming RT and in general

I left all the covers off just in case I had to swap out, but no issues

Service is excellent, he already shipped my replacement out! The dome lights alone are worth it, you could just about do surgery in my LC now, it's so bright...

Well, wish I could say that, put one in and less than a minute later, smoke was drifting out. Put the smaller one back in and called it a day.

I have a 99 LC every single interior light is busted, does anyone know where I can get LED replacements for those bulbs?
