The quick release on the right just spews air, no matter what I do. Should I replace it? What happens to these valves over time? Is it the male hose end? I am at my wits end........it just hisses out the air as fast as it fills. DAMN! I sprayed in some RemOil and ran the male hose terminal in and out a whole load of times trying to free up the bearing and connector insides.

Any hints?

Good quality ones have a replaceable seal. Maybe buy another at HD and see if they have seals while you're there. If not, put the new one on and take the old one apart if you can, and see if you can find a seal for it.

a professional tool shop in your area will have replacements. btw, I've had poor luck with ridgid tools, smoked a year old shop vac, their biggest one, HD wouldn't warranty it.

you can get the hose ends to replace those, just make sure you get the right kind as there is like a half dozen different kinds. I dont know what store you would go to in the states but princess auto here has a ton of them.

Why not just replace it with a whole new valve?

In the "good old days" you got a new rubber washer seal for a few pennies and replaced it. In these "new improved walleyworld disposable" times, you toss it and buy a new one.

I still have a few Milton seals, so this one is getting resealed.:hillbilly:

the quick couplers are cheap and inexpensive. toss yours and replace, repeat. happens all the time so keep a few spares.

don't sweat the little things

Dave to the rescue....tried to get that sucker off there and I am having a devil of a time getting the quick coupler to separate from the valve it threads into. The whole thing is easy to remove but that coupler is REALLY in there tight.......gonna go back out and brave the heat to see if I can make it budge apart.

There's bad o-ring inside it. The little sucker is chipped. Wonder if I can get another one? I'll look at HD for a coupler.
