Well the passenger side headlight has a leak (condensation) and by reading thorugh some of the posts I need to buy a whole new headlight "housing". Any thoughts? Just go with the OEM? Theyre not cheap. I looked on Ebay and it looks like there are some options there too.

Oh yeah, my 40 and 55 mated and gave birth to a 2005.....howyou say.....100 series TLC so my wife could feel as cool as I do. So I will be visiting this part of the forum more often....

Remove it and bake in a 200 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Use a plastic "bone tool" to pry the lens off. Clean and dry the inside, add more butyl adhesive where needed. Butyl glue is the same thing used for windshields.

Reassemble and seal the perimeter with silicone sealant.

Think I remember reading that putting the two halves back together in the oven at 200 then clamping them together to cool works well. Add extra sealant where required.
Only asking because I have two to open up for projector upgrade and want the reseal to work too :-)

I don't think you have to take it apart unless you have dirt inside. After washing my car a month ago I noticed one of my driving lights was half full of water. After removing it I found the whole case was cracked and broken up. Large pieces from the top surface broke loose and fell inside. I shook all the pieces out and flushed it out really well with distilled water and shook all of the water out that I could get out. After a couple of days of sitting in window sun light it all dried out and was clean as a whistle. I glued the pieces back in place one by one and pried open the remaining cracks to smear glue in them to seal them. Then I epoxied a layer of 4 oz. fiberglass cloth over the top surface for added strength. After that cured I siliconed all around the outside of the lens. Works perfactly and no leaks at all.
I found that the plastic they use is VERY brittle so good luck trying to get the thing apart without doing further damage. I would just rinse it out and seal it up with silicone.
Just a sugestion from my experiance.
Good luck.
