Looks great! How are you liking the Toyos?

Thanks. I'm really liking the Toyo's. When I had my TJ I always stuck with BFG's. I haven't had the Toyo's long, but so far they seem to have good performance on and off road, with little road noise.

I installed the kit with the help of a friend. Research the FAQ's and threads here first, make sure you have all the recommended tools, and follow the instructions from Slee online. Take your time, think safety and you'll do fine. I'm a mechanical slug and was able to stumble through it and am very glad that I did.

Once installed, it will need an alignment.

Just a quick update. I've been too busy with home improvements and the kid's soccer tournaments to do anything to the Cruiser, but did make it out to Death Valley for the first time. I didn't try anything remotely difficult, but really enjoyed the scenery. The 864's have been a huge improvement - MUCH better balance and steering feedback when loaded down.

Here's one with the family crammed in at the Furnace Creek Visitor's Center.

Tom, reading this over again, am I correct you have the Slee heavy 2.5 kit but then swapped to the 864 rear coils? How do you like them for just driving around? Are you keeping weight in the back? And just to confirm, which shocks are you running?

I just posted a thread the other day about my suspension setup. Last week was the first time we had the truck fully loaded down with a weeks worth of gear for the whole crew (me, wife, 2 kids, 90# dog) and the back was saggin' low! So I am now trying to decide if I should swap rear springs.

Thanks!

Fireball - Yes, I started with the Slee Heavy 2.5 kit. I then changed out the rear springs that came with the kit for the 864s, which are taller and stiffer. I still have the springs that came with the kit in case the ride was too jarring with the 864s, but it really hasn't been an issue. Even when I'm by myself, I'm not bothered by the stiffness - I don't even think about it. I planned on running with weights in the back, but haven't felt the need. Others have complained of the Slee Heavy Kit as being too stiff for their comfort (much less the 864s), so I'm guessing it just depends on your preference. For me, this has been a great investment with zero regrets. I'll be putting the other springs up for sale.

Slee shows that the shocks are OME 60000 and 60002 on their kits, I think that is what I have.

Did you notice a significantly stiffer harsher ride when you swapped over?

It felt a little stiffer, but I was expecting much worse.

It's hard to quantify the difference. I wish you were nearby, I'd let you drive it.
