Typing this up before I leave Ouray and cannonball-run 1,254 miles home. This is my second LCDC—made extra bittersweet by the fact that this was the last one. Once again, huge shoutout to @indycole @codyaustin5 and all of the volunteers and trail leaders for such an amazing gift to this community. It was so cool to come back and know more people than the last one—and I mean like really know, first names, kids names, and long-running group chats. They achieved their goal and built lasting community among introverted land cruiser nerds.

Trail playlist
  • Side-quest up Hurrah pass in Moab
  • Mineral creek to Poughkeepsie gulch as an opener. We bypassed the wall but several folks in my group conquered it later in the week
  • Clear Lake
  • Ophir Pass
  • Yankee boy basin
  • Sydney Basin
  • Govenor basin
  • Stony Pass
  • Kite Lake
Damage and issues of note
  • My trasharoo barely survived a bear attack because I left trash in it (seriously, dont do this)
  • My inner fender liners are holding on for dear life. 35s still rub. A lot,
  • My ARB dual suddenly became a single because the boot on the factory connector is loose
  • The breaker on my DC/DC charger tripped at some point, reset it and it was fine
  • Discovered that the ballast on my aftermarket HIDs had failed. This is third failure—they wont be invited back to the truck
  • No trail damage other than some new scratches
On to the photos (and if you have any of my rig, please post em!)

Living vicariously through these pics.

Great to connect with you in person!

Still need to go through a number of photos but here are a few quick ones I have available.

Safe travels back home!

I just got home. It was awesome to hang with the old heads, and meet a bunch of new folks!

One chapter closes, and another opens. I know we'll see each other out in the dirt (and dust!) again.

I've got a lot of work to catch up on, but I'll dig through the picture archive and post some stuff up.

I will do the same. Stopped in St. George and will post up some more pics when I get home. Missed seeing you Chris. We'll be back for sure.

Not to pick at a scab, but can you provide a few more details on these points:
  • My ARB dual suddenly became a single because the boot on the factory connector is loose
  • Discovered that the ballast on my aftermarket HIDs had failed. This is third failure—they wont be invited back to the truck
Any pictures of the boot and what one should look for to avoid the same fate?
What brand HIDs? I'm 5 or 6 years in on a Xenon Depot ballast with Phillips bulbs without issue. Trying to figure out if I should expect failure...

Looks like an amazing trip. Godspeed getting home!

Don’t have any pics handy but it’s the big wide harness on the ARB with the two power leads.

My HIDs are also xenondepot 🫠
