Does anyone know the tread life for the original tires? My 2018 Land cruiser comes with Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 tires and no mileage warranty from manufacturer.

I replaced mine on my '17 LC at ~5,000 miles because I switched to Rock Warrior 17" wheels.

I replaced the ones on my wife's '14 LX at ~20,000 miles because she had a flat.

Both sets replaced seemed to have many miles left in them based on tread.

More definitive results will be posted, but I'm going to guess 35-40K miles.

I am at about 15,000 mile in my 2017 LC200 (a leftover truck purchased last year) and those original tires (same as yours) look... like new.
:)

Thanks for your input. Are your Rock Warriors loud?

Thanks for your input. Hope the original tires can last >50k miles as I see an original tire costs around $350, it’s definitely more expensive than most tires even the sport tires:(.

Tread life varies a LOT with driving style, vehicle use, and tire care. The reviews for this tire on the Tire Rack are not complimentary about tread life, among dislikes for most other characteristics. You can read those reviews yourself to get some data. At the very high price, few owners replace them with the same tire. Further, on enthusiast sites like MUD, many new owners replace the Dunlops immediately with a tire better suited for the Land Cruiser and their needs. This model Dunlop (AT23) is only sold OEM on the Land Cruiser or Lexus, so there are no other vehicles on the Tire Rack site for tread life comparisons.

Mine were like new on my LX and I couldn’t even give them away. I felt they were unsafe from a handling standpoint ( hydroplaning ). I threw them in the trash.

I took them off as soon as I could as I thought they were junk
Sold them for $100 for the four of them

Plenty of better tires out there and plenty of threads here debating which is best

2016 with 31K miles on the OEM tires rotated every 5K. They are really starting to show their wear and I would guess about another 5K tops.

Agree with you. Just did some homework about Dunlop tires treadlife rating. Our LC OEM tires have UTQG rating with 360. According to Dunlop, some models with UTQG rating 500 have 60k mileage warranty, some with rating 620 have 75k mileage warranty, so I guess the LC OEM tires have approximate 40k. It’s definitely a low treadlife tire to suv I think. My 16 GMC Acadia comes with the 70k-80k mileage warranty tires.

^^^ what Utah said. On my ‘13 LX took them off after the first summer (~4K miles) and sold them on Craig’s list for $100. Honestly is you just drive on the road they aren’t a terrible tire and they did great in the sand. The reason I switched out is I tow a lot and do some fairly tough off roading to get where we want to be. So I wanted a 10 ply AT tire.

2016 LC with 27K on factory tires. I guess another 15K or more left.
I rotate every 5K with oil change. That is only since 14.4K as purchased used.
I am doing 4 tire rotation. When 4 factory are dead will replace all 5 and go to 5 tire rotation.

FYI had zero on road issues with Tires I live in Austin and monthly head to Beaumont. Lots of running in rain on Texas highways no issues. One road trip to Missouri and back. Tow boat about once a month for 60 miles. I have not take these off road and not sure I will till I get better tire. But for mall cruising the factories seem fine till I wear them out.

As stated above, I don't hear any difference in the wheels, but I believe wheels rarely make any audible difference. I have BFG A/T tires on the Rock Warrior wheels. They might be slightly louder than the OEM Dunlops, but it's not noticable with windows up. My wife's LX has Michelin Defender LTX tires and I don't notice a noise difference between the two. I'm not sure if it's the tires or different suspension (probably both) but my wife's LX rides much smoother than my LC.

I'm the second owner of my truck. Bought it with 49k miles, which from the toyota service records seemed to be mostly highway. It either had the factory tires or they had been replaced with factory tires - the service records from the dealer seemed comprehensive but didn't mention tires. I replaced them at about 65k when they had maybe 4/32" on them - I think I could've run them for the summer but they were worthless for wheeling

So I'd say either 65k or ~35k miles.

It should be the latter. I think the previous owner already replaced them. I would say the latter because I noticed the current wear for my factory tires, I believe it won’t last more than 40k or 45k miles.

Entirely possible. They had a tire patched at 25k miles, but no evidence of tire replacement, though certainly the owner could have taken it to a shop which doesn't record the service, but it seemed like they were in the shop every 6k miles like clockwork
