Yep, I'm looking for local LC owners who may need some repair/modification help or just to shoot the chit and a  or   . I've got some tools and experiance. I don't want money, just want to meet and help some local LC owners.

I work weekends but I'm usually off work and home after 4pm.

PM me

Damn, you drive a 60, have tools, experience AND you quote Zappa in your siggie. I wish you were closer to L.A. so I could take you up on your offer.

thanks for posting up man. i've been planning spring/summer projects which i'd like to include a knuckle rebuild. unfortunately i have not the space or current knowledge [was planning on buying the DVD] to do it. it's even a 60 and i like beer, too.

i'll hit you up off list and try to meet up after boarding season.

Hell, I'll drive down from Toronto, just to kick some tires.

At least that's how I feel 6 out of 7 days of the week, 10 years of owning my 60 and the TLC itch is still huge!

LOL

Chuckles from the slow lane.

Hey,
Im SORT'A local...Im up in Reno NV. I you guyz want to hook up and go wheelin some time, just lemme know, or if you need some help. Im pretty new to the wheelin scene, so I dont know a whole lot, but I am an OX when it comes to heavy s*** , and I CAN WORK.
I know NO ONE who has a cruser, much less, who uses it for wheeling. Thanks for posting up. Id love to meet other cruiser junkies.
BTW...I LIKE BEER TOO:beer:  and Im also a rather large fan of Jack Daniels:D :D :D

Hey Nicholas,
What lift do you have on your rig? what rims and tires are you running? I love the way your set up looks...Thats about what I want mine to be someday.

Hey Chicago,

Click below, under my signature on the link (1983 BJ60), that'll take you to a full description of mods.

The only thing I'd change would be that I should have gone Dakar springs for longevity.

Hey Norcal60...I am down here in Modesto. You missed a great oppurtunity to do some work on a fellow LC owners rig this weekend (Sine80). We did a spring over on his FJ40. Will try to get ahold of you the next time we do something. Could have used the help.

That's cool guy's, I'm always happy to bust a knuckle or two to help fellow Cruiser owners. :hillbilly
Unfortunately I do work weekends but can manage to be sick(cough cough) on occasion, at least till I get a better position out at the depot.
I don't have a whole lotta experiance wrenching other than outta necessity and tools are continually being aquired as funds warrant. What I do have is an ambition to help out in any way I can and to make sure to job is done right the first time(if at all possible).

Just gimme a heads-up!

Tom

ps: tue. and wed. are my sat. and sun. currently, it has its pro's and con's.

Next time indeed! Too bad I missed the fun;p

Man, I'd love to do a SOA on Elise but I've a long list of TTD before I can consider getting that done.

Patience is my friend!

maybe in the near future if you want to see amador county. i get down to stockton all the time, i have some BIG plans for the future of big blue and could use some help.

Fourrunner, i still wanna see your rig, i met you in pine grove when you were lookin at that white fj60 my dad and i had. unfortunately i dont get down to modesto as often...

Nicholas,
That is a NICE rig...I really like it the way it looks.
I was looking to see the size tires and rims your running on there, but it doesnt say. All it says is 37's. Im looking into a set of black steels, and Im not sure if I want to get 15x8 or 15x10.
Did you do the SOA your self? How much total lift do you figure you have?

Chicago

OOPS, sorry, I just went back and re checked the list...8.5x15 rims...
My fault.

Chicago

Hey, Dylan, that would be cool. I used to go up there 2-3 times a week back in the day. Used to haul lumber products outta AFP but never did any wheeling up there. Now I just go up occasionally to do some trout fishing.

Hey Chicago,
It did say 37" MTRs, I have since updated the description.

The rims are a 8.5"x15" with 3.75" back spacing no-name 3 piece rim which were factory welded down the centre to meet Ontario DOT specs, that is all I know about these rims, I think I prefer the look of a 10" wide rim myself, but some people have a preference for the tall and skinny wheel stance.

Yes, I did the Spring Over myself with the help of a couple of friends after 4 years of studying how to do it properly and slowly acquiring all the parts I would need for the job (ie: Hy-steer arm, 80 series tie rod ends braided extended brake lines, gears, knuckle rebuild kit, spring perches, greasable shackles and frame pins, new leaf springs and a big industrial pipe cutter).

I think I'm hijacking this thread so I'll wind this down.

I've never been one to scream and shout about my BJ60 as I am not one to teach gear head issues, there are some folks on these forums we should pay attention to when they chime in, however after 10 years of ownership and loads of TLC 60 series passion, one tends to pick up a thing or two.

like I said, I'm not one to preach because you'll learn more when you listen.

...I already know what I know,

...I want to learn what they know.

I have done nothing since I sold my house....no place to work on it now. I guess I have done one thing...notched the front crossmember and installed my front driveshaft. Technically it is complete, not including little stuff here and there...
