-- how do you protect it?

this stuff just begs to be scratched.

it's relatively aggravating that such a costly truck has such basic aesthetics internally, which show wear quite easily.

and for the 2016 refresh, they're still there.

thanks!

You can replace them for $14.

thanks for your replies, though i'm not looking at 2 hours of work on each piece to remove, sand and re-spray.

just instead looking at preventatively preserving these yaris carry-overs.

so, getting new ones, is there some clear-coat a body-shop could spray them to make them a bit more durable?

i know it's sounding inane, but my gosh, cheap scratched interiors bother me more.

thanks.

A coat of clear matte polyurethane would probably work.

Drives me crazy too.

The 2013 and up part should be chrome, if I'm not mistaken. It's likely more durable, but not for everyone. The Tundra handle might fit... need to check that... they come in black. If properly prepped and sprayed with an automotive paint, they should last longer. Rattle can has it's place, but this is not it.

Well, I can tell yea, that the LX has real wood everywhere in it, and it is clear coated and I think it scratches worse then the LC silver plastic, and the cost is many times more to replace then the plastics in the LC some of those are not cheap either but nothing like those wood. I replaces a few wood pcs in my 11 LX last year and wow, for example that rear cup holder door cover on the center seat was over a couple hundred bucks installed.

Just so we all know what we're talking about, here's a pic of my 2013 DS door handle area:

Are we talking about the chromed door opening pull handle?

Or are we talking about the silver trim around the handle?

HTH

This is my biggest problem with the 200 series! I just can't understand Toyota besides your key; you have to use this every time you get into the vehicle! To skimp on this product just boggles my mind!
