Has anyone figured out how to turn off the lights inside the tailgate when it is open?
On my 100 & 200 the lights would “time out” after 15 or 20 minutes. On my 250, they never turn off if the tailgate is open. I had the tailgate open for 90 minutes last week and they were on the entire time.
I looked through all the customization settings on the touchscreen and found nothing.
Thank you.

Just wired in some small red and white LEDs and switches. The switch for the white LEDs also switches the OEM tailgate lights on and off.
I need to take a few photos and post them.

Sounds good, Curious, did yours have the two little lights? If so very curious how you wired the switches, looking forward to the photos.

Yes, mine has the two small rectangular lights.
Each one of those lights has a pigtail with a clip for power.
What I did was wire each switch to the power leads, then wired the red LEDs to one switch and the white LEDs and the rectangular lights to the other switch. Now the lights only come on with the switches.

That sounds amazing. did the little light coverings pop out easily if so how'd you pop them out? were you able to access the pigtails and do all the work through the light coverings you removed? or did you have to remove the entire rear lift gate cover to access the wires? very interested in following in your footsteps and doing this. I'm sure many more are too because the fact you can't turn off those lights is highly annoying especially when boondocking etc, I'm hoping this is an extremely simple diy project, looking forward to pictures and thanks for the response 🍻
