Hello all,

This will be my first post here. I thought I'd do a little write up on the 2000 LX470 w/90k I just purchased.

I found out that it had a leak coming from underneath the plastic and was leaking in to the driver's side cabin/headliner.

So far so good. I used almost a whole tube of "flowable silicone".

Tools needed:
1 electronic cigarette juice container with needle
10mm wrench
1 tube flowable windshield sealer
1 pr. vice grips (optional) for squeezing bottle

Time:
2 beers

The leak:

The tools:

Remove sunroof plastic guards by gently pulling them. The sides have a clip that is best to roll inwards when removing.

Inject silicone gently in the gap between the seal and the glass.

(Optional) Use silicone to make a small "bead" around the outside of the seal.

Remount sunroof.

hey did you come across a rubber gasket trim piece? I had one come out from my sunroof area and could not figure out where it came from and have NOT put it back yet.

There is about a 24" strip that runs along the backside of the sunroof along the actual body of the vehicle. The other gaskets span the distance of the sunroof.

I think I may have a similar leak. Any reason you couldn’t apply the flowable silicone from the top/exterior of the glass to stop any water intrusion? So then you don’t have to dismount the glass from truck.
