man i wish i was still there to join you guys. why hit apex though? i know there is a lot of cool riding out there, but i had more fun with my quad there than the FJ. Make it a nighter and hit Valley of Fire. You live there, so Im sure you've been up there. Short drive, and a really cool fire department. They will give you a map of the place, and also know you are out there. Just let them know when you plan on being out and checking back with them....if they don't hear from you by that time, they are on the trails looking for you. Coolest guys I met out there, PM me and I can shoot some pics of me winching out the game warden at VOF!!

you all have fun....im so freakin jealous!:bang::bang:

The rendezvous point is Apex.

There will be a short meet and greet then a safety/recovery seminar. After that, we're making a run into the very remote Arizona Strip and staying overnight at the north rim of the Grand Canyon and coming back home Sunday. Another group is heading to the Las Vegas Dunes area after the Trails Team gathering for some local wheeling.

Arizona Strip

When: May 31-June 1 (Sat.-Sunday)

Meet: Iron Skillet at Speedway exit. 8:00 am
Please have breakfast by 8:30am so that everyone can be at the Apex exit by 9am.

We will be making a gas stop in Mesquite before leaving the pavement.

Link to map: Google Maps

Gear: Whatever you need for the overnight stay, camping gear, food, water etc. Plus 10 gal. extra gas. Please bring at least 1 bundle of firewood.

Toyota Trail Teams will be attending this event.

The Toyota Trail Team will be doing an off-road and safety seminar around 9am after breakfast at the I-15/Apex exit. You are more than welcome to just show up for that. I cannot guarantee it, but sometimes they do have some free Toyota merchandise to hand out to the attendees.

If you want to make this a one day trip, You can do it and still get some great wheeling in. I will print out some TOPO maps for those that may want to turn back, without camping Saturday night. Alternate return routes will be shown so that you won't have to back track over the same roads. Be aware that the routes shown may not have been traveled by anyone on this run, so the conditions of the roads will be unknown. Isn't that part of an adventure?

If you spend the night, then you'll get to make it down to the water and enjoy the cold water and peaceful serenity of the Colorado River.
