I just got a laptop and was looking into the GPS software for it. i will post about the software in Chat, but what mounting options are there for a laptop in a 40?

Look in the 80's section- there are several threads about mounting laptops.
I would buy a self-contained waterproof GPS unit that can do auto-routing on its own, and then have the capability to sync up to a laptop. (such as the Garmin GPS V) Most units come with software for a laptop.
A laptop that was mounted always exposed would get trashed pretty fast in my 40- maybe yours is different.
