Landcruiser doublecab tray

Hi guys. Im new to the 70 series scene, Owned a couple 80 Series. Love Landcruises in general.
Just ordered my New double cab 70. Wanting to design a tray for it. Just need some ideas. Also would anyone know where to get a factory one like this?

What country are you based in? I know they dont come with them from the factory in NZ or Aus, but have seen some imported from Thailand, Japan etc

If you can't get the local dealer to order one, then you could order one from overseas, but be ware of the customs and shipping expenses. I'm pretty sure the Oman Toyota dealer would order one and ship it to you. PM me of you want some contact details.

I just saw a new v8 cruiser single cab with a genuine tub, so they might offer them for the double cab

Those are retro fitted off an older model.They stopped offering them as an option in Aust/NZ when the V8 model arrived,so I am told.
Which was a huge mistake ,seeingas though the V8 models have huge recreational interest over the 1HZ models

Mmm, fair enough. They'd done a good job of matching the paint, it was the dark grey colour.

Try a commercial or 4x4 importer, they may be able to source one form japan etc usually with something like that they just throw on the back of a curtainsider there importing to cut down freight.

When I say retro fit, I mean someone has found a tub off an older model and bolted it on.Its a straight swap as long as you applicable tub for that model.
I think its just 8 bolts and 2 electrical plugs
There is some difference between the 75 series and 79 series tubs due the longer cab on a 79.
How this affects a dual cab ,I do not know.

The hardest part will be tracking down a tub.

Adding you locality to your signature or post means others automatically know where you are

No I dont sorry as Im at the other end of the country, Try any heavy vehicle importer. Somebody that imports Hino/Isuzu etc curtainsiders or flatbeds. There always filling up the decks of trucks with motorbikes and other things when they import them. Have a look on trademe maybe? just ask around.

So ive been looking around everywhere and i still cant find a tray . I may have to try and find a single cab one now and the chop it and make it fit. last resort would be to build a flat deck tray.
Any ideas on where i could find a single cab one? as they have been around for ages. Maybe even one off a truck which has been wrecked

Toyota never sold genuine Wellside Tubs new in NZ for single cab landcruisers. All sold Cab/Chassis like your double cab will be. Did the dealer not offer you a Flatdeck? most dealers get a local engineer to make decks for them. Try one of these guys....
