Eric,
Swapped in the diff this weekend, 60 runs nice and smooth now and no longer feels as it's gonna fly apart.
Didn't you say just keep the diff because you're going to dump all of your Cruiser junk and go the Harley route
?
The diff swap took longer than expected, which the way I work should have been expected. Yanking out the Aussie was a minor time sink, plus I have spacers on for running 16" wheels and those had to come off before I could pull the drums and slide the axle shafts. Wrapped everything up last night and took it for a spin. And I still had a nasty vibration. Driveshaft. I did not expect this because I replaced u-joints about a year and half ago and had the shaft balanced. But one of the joints has gone bad. So spent a little time this morning swapping d-shafts between the 60s and now, finally, have smoothed out the driveline.
