Eric,

Swapped in the diff this weekend, 60 runs nice and smooth now and no longer feels as it's gonna fly apart.

Didn't you say just keep the diff because you're going to dump all of your Cruiser junk and go the Harley route:grinpimp:?

The diff swap took longer than expected, which the way I work should have been expected. Yanking out the Aussie was a minor time sink, plus I have spacers on for running 16" wheels and those had to come off before I could pull the drums and slide the axle shafts. Wrapped everything up last night and took it for a spin. And I still had a nasty vibration. Driveshaft. I did not expect this because I replaced u-joints about a year and half ago and had the shaft balanced. But one of the joints has gone bad. So spent a little time this morning swapping d-shafts between the 60s and now, finally, have smoothed out the driveline.

Glad you have a smooth running truck now! But sad you've lost your memory!

Jim! I keep forgetting to call you back... but yes, that's out of a 94 full float.

No longer matters. The question was for a reply in the 60 series forum but the thread has now sunk into oblivion.

Eric,

I'll get the diff back to you next Tuesday. Today the UPS guy dropped off a pair of diffs from OMC (3FE list) and I picked up new bearings, seals, and gaskets for the rear. A complete rear axle rebuild, including brakes, is planned for this weekend.

Awesome! Wish I could help! this weekend's busy!
If I don't go to WideOpenDesign's Grand Opening, then I'm going to dega.

Diff is out, packed in a bucket and just waiting to be delivered.

Thanks for keeping it lubed up!
I'm over at Dudley Hall, but can meet anywhere convenient!

Good thing we got together the other afternoon so that I could pass it off to you because I was thinking about running out to your house and just dropping it off, not knowing that you had moved. I guess the lack of a pile of rolling junk :D would have tipped me off that something was different.

LOL!
I woulda seen it. I still have the key to the tiny house and have yet to forward any mail.... had to go over there yesterday... Already miss that place.
