Land Cruisers for parts or sells as whole

I am actually an old user that could not recover my password so I just came back as Holl4x4.
I have a question. I have 2 landcruiser fj80's that I was would like to sell. Both are 93. I was rebuilding the engine on one Land Cruiser and used all Toyota Parts until I ran out of money.The engine was completely machined and short block compete.
The other Land Cruiser is running and driving great. My question is, I would like to know if you think the Land Cruiser would be worth more money as a whole or should I part the truck out? I am a Master Certified Mechanic that has been doing this for years and Built 15 Land Cruisers in the past. But I have never parted one out. The fact that the head is not on this truck and it still needs some expensive parts leads me to believe maybe I could sell the parts on some internet sites for a lot more than what I could sell the vehicle as a whole.
Please let me know if there is any interest in parts or buying as a whole. I am in Southern California and have always considered doing this for a living. I can take pictures and videos of running working parts. Then if there is enough interest I can determine if I would part it out or not.
With either decision I will be getting rid of both of these LandCruisers.

Well...do either of your cruisers have factory lockers or upgrades of any kind?
 
No lockers ... One truck has leather. Other than that they are basic trucks. I have been working on the Green Truck for years for a customer and we have put all Toyota Parts on. Tires are brand new Michelin on both trucks. Other than interior parts about the biggest option for extras on 80 Series was lockers. The rest is all he same on these trucks.
 
I'd probably sell the running one and part the non-running.
 
I would agree if this was a Shelby Mustang or a FJ40 but this is a Common Land Cruiser 80 Series. I see 100's of them every day. When you cant recover your money that you invested into the engine because you cant finish it then you have to do what you have to do to get your money back out of it. I cant give it away.
Plus the parts can help make other people's Land Cruisers avoid the junk yard, in some cases. So I don't agree with your comment about keeping it alive.

Where in So.Cal are you? My 80 is just like the gold one and could use a couple parts if you decide to go that route.

I think the point being made by that poster was just that seeing a totaled cruiser getting parted out is understandable. Yours looks pretty clean and is a shame to see it parted, it's just kind of a fanatical statement from cruiser heads. It's yours, so do what you want with it.
Do you have somewhere to tear one apart and pack and ship items all over the country for the next couple years until you actually sell enough of it to get ahead?
With you claimed skills, could you sell the runner and use funds to complete a documented rebuild and then sell the second for a premium over a typical high mileage 93 cruiser ie $6k versus $2500.

Maybe you should try to sell the unfinished one for what you need to get out of it and see what happens. Parting out is a PITA! Lots of emailing, pulling parts, packing and shipping. My time is worth more so I would try to sell it whole.

I'm in the market for an 80... What were you asking for each?
