Not really. There are many players: Waymo (Google), cruise (GM),…

Can you buy those players? GM Cruise is dead. Waymo is still around but their expansion is very limited because they cannot grow fast due to geo-fenced and just lack of vehicles. Waymo uses mainly Jaguar I-Pace which has been discontinued and Hyundai Ioniq. Waymo vehicles cost $160,000-200,000 per car. Tesla costs $42k. And FYI, Waymo despite being way ahead does NOT use end-to-end AI to train. This is why Tesla is able to evolve and expand so fast. Tesla FSD can drive in China and soon India...two of the worst driving environments in modern society!

Not only all that. Robotaxi is newest to the game and is already higher coverage area than everyone but Waymo. Billions of miles of trained area based on previous versions of FSD supervised.
Don't get me wrong, I want competition but at this point there isn't much. I've talked to the Zoox guys and they are pretty hopeful but their operation is tiny.
They will also have a choice soon to put a new car in the sales queue or the in the robotaxi fleet.
Unless you've FSD'd regularly over time you don't realize what it is really capable of. Not perfect by any means but pretty damn amazing.

For me My daughters Chevy with super cruse works way better then my 2022 model 3 (but it is a HSR 3 car) with FSD. The Chevy is smoother and more fluid, it feels more like it was designed around a human. The Tesla feels like it was designed by AI that was programmed by a computer to think what a human may drive line.

I’m also 11 years in with 3 teslas and have little faith in their ability to develop software. Heck it took them 6 years of OTA updates to get the rain sensing wipers and traction control to be even mediocre in my 2018 model 3.

Ouch!
I don't have any experience other than my cybertruck and what I've been learning the last year about the new cars. There is a big difference from what you are describing. Don't get me wrong, the cybertrucks have their quirks and are only better than 70% of the drivers on the road at this point in my mind. Autopilot is also crap, it hasn't been updated in years and there are a lot of complaints. FSD has been pretty good though.

I also don't use it all the time like some people. I enjoy driving so it does a lot of my highway driving most of the time. I really wish autopilot was just basic cruise control with distance sensing.

Another Tesla quirk, what ever Elon thinks you want, you get (1980’s Honda steering yolk anyone?, no interior lighting, …) When I got my 2018 model 3 you had the option of basic cruise, traffic aware cruse, traffic aware cruise with auto steer, and FSD (to go live within the next year… in 2018…). My 2018 is in Alaska where the roads are snow covered more than half the year and lines are optional so I went with traffic aware. When I got the 2022 (used) that lives in Hawaii it came with FSD (thank you Hertz), it is so buggy and quirky I never use it, I wish there was a way to use it as traffic aware cruise like I have on my 2018.

I think that you will be pleasantly surprised with HW4 Model Y or 3. Cybertruck FSD is still crappy due to low volume and thus slow AI training.

I'd like to see the testers show the level of EMF's that are emitted while sitting in the Tesla. The videos I've come across show EMF meters measuring EV's emitting the same radiation levels as sitting directly in front of a microwave. And these high levels are observed in the front and back seats of EV's. I'll pass on them forever for this reason alone.

Nope. NOT TRUE.

Per ChatGPT:

Several users on Reddit shared personal EMF meter readings:

“Tesla read under 1 mG at all times.”

“I measured 1.2 mG in a modern pickup truck; peaked like 2.0 mG during acceleration.”

Suggesting Tesla may emit even less than many gasoline-powered cars.

Bottom Line
  • EMF inside Tesla cabins is minimal, often imperceptible and well within safety standards.
  • Slightly elevated EMF readings near charging equipment do not appear to pose interference risks for cardiac devices.
  • Casual measurements suggest Tesla’s EMF exposure is generally lower or comparable to that found in conventional cars.

Good review video of Tesla “issues”:

I’m 11 years now with 3 EVs. I have developed this hate of getting gas, it is a massive inconvenience, time waste and one fill up in my LX is 4-6 months of driving my model 3.

And for road trips, many times I make better time on road trips in the Tesla than I would in the LX. For long trips if I’m not towing the camper or off roading I take the EV every time.

Is soon as I can get a EV truck that can tow my camper 250-300 miles the 200 is gone.

Not sure about you guys, the new Y L is a stunner! Has everything current Y has with these changes:

Bigger screen up front (16” from 15.4).

Adaptive suspension (probably like Model 3 Performance…comfort, standard, and sport)…but not air suspension.

Ventilated seats for 1st and 2nd row….3rd row has heated only.

3rd row is huge!

Quieter and better ride than current Model Y.

AC vents in all 3 rows.

0-60 is about 0.2 seconds slower than current Y.

Battery size is 82 kWh (slightly bigger than current Y). Same driving range as current Y.

Front seats have thigh extender.

Front phone chargers have “cooling vents” to prevent overheating of phone while charging.

18 speakers sound system with one subwoofer.

Cost? About $3000 more than current Y at same level (per China price).

Technically the high end sierra should be able to do that range. I think its battery is over 2x the cybertrucks.

I’ve highly debated getting a Silverado WT with the largest battery. I’m waiting to find a deal on one. I have a buddy with one that had 3 teslas prior and loves it, he made it Anchorage to Fairbanks (~380 miles) on a single charge and a not only made it but with 22% remaining.

So, you own two cyber trucks, one in Alaska and which Hawaii island? (if you don't mind :))

I have Two model 3’s, passed on my cyber truck reservation.

The 2022 model 3 (standard range) I got for ~60% off used from Hertz when they dumped their Tesla fleet. It’s on Oahu.
