I just moved too St Maries, Idaho from Wasilla, Alaska, I'm looking at starting a Land Cruiser ONLY shop. So I'm putting this out there for the CDA/Spokane crowd and the North Idaho/Eastern Washington/Western Montana cruiser fanatics. I would like to know if there is any interest in a shop for the Cruiser addicted. I've been looking around and there doesn't appear to be a shop that caters directly to the Cruiser community. I've bought a 3300 sqft shop with a house for the wife with the intention of specializing in Cruiser fab, modifications and maintenance. I'm also interested in meeting good people, wheeling, camping, shooting and spending My time working on the vehicles I love. I've been building and modifying Cruisers for the last 17 years, while serving in the military and raising a family. I'm currently looking into some equipment to make the shop more functional I.E. a lift, band saw, and a Kegorator.
Please PM me for cell # contact info, looking forward to hearing from the local fanatics.

Great Idea! When I lived in Austin, TX there was a cruiser specific shop there, they were always busy. I know that if/when I need work done that I cant handle, I would love to have a cruiser fanatic to send it to. Good luck, let us know what happens.

Thanks Spok, please excuse the delayed response. I grew up in Austin, really great city loved the food and music scene.

I miss it sometimes, still have family down there so I get to visit a least once a year, but I love the NW too.

Currently in the process of tearing down my cruiser for a full rebuild. Was handed down the car from my father, and am a full-time student going into automotive. Happy to see someone else as die-hard about them.

If you need any help feel free to shoot me a message. Would love to see more LC-oriented stuff up here!

Here in Hayden there is a Jeep shop, that has a few Land cruisers mixed in, would like to see a Cruiser Specific place! They also do custom welding and general 4 wheel stuff-lifts, lockers.... I have meat the owner once, his knowledge seems pretty good and they are always full of vehicles, not sure what is coming out, but a lot of vehicle fill the lot-worth a drive by if you are in town, they are on Govt'way north of the Hayden Superone.

Guys, excuse the late response. I've been doing odd jobs lately, including building up the St Maries fire and rescue truck.
Spent a few days installing lights, markings, reflectors and in the next few days a 275 gallon water tank with pump. Then right in the middle of this My soon blows a head gasket in his 91 FJ80 on the way back from his guard unit in Lewiston. Been a busy couple of weeks.
I'm currently getting the metal together to finish welding up a tire/fuel can carrier on My 85 FJ60.
Anyone have a suggestion or experience with a powder coating shop in CDA?
I'm also getting the metal together to make custom roof racks, sliders and rear bumpers/tire carriers for my 87 FJ60 and my youngest sons 1991 Blazer. I will post up pics of all My projects as I get them done.
My 87 will be the expedition/camping rig for me and the :princess:. Hopefully, if funds come available I'll mount a roof top tent to the rig before the summer.

Looking forward to the bumper/tire carrier, slider, and roof rack pics...

If any of the Spokane/CDA cruiser fanatics will be attending the CDA Fairgrounds Gun Show, I will be in building 19. Selling stuff totally unrelated to Cruisers. Look for this booth and a bald guy with an epic beard :)

If you are thinking of really making it happen I'm going to be moving up there in July. I currently have been working full time at red line land cruisers in Colorado Springs. I'm experienced in CAD work, I'm really learning lots of fabrication work now. I can fabricate most things if someone else welds them. I'm just looking for a job up there. I'm going to be going to moody bible institute for their aviation program.

Nathan, I've seen Redlines handy work, really sweet stuff. I actually haven't been working on any Cruisers other than My own. I've been super busy fabricating lead smelters (picture below), yup totally unrelated to cruisers. I'm actually looking at going to North Idaho College and getting My welding Cert and maybe even a Diesel cert.

I understand. I haven't been working on anything in the past few months. I just started school but I don't start the mechanics portion for another year so yea. I miss working on cruisers. That smelter look like a nice piece of work. Good luck on your certifications.
