Thanks for the map Pawel.
Ok, I was talking to Gary T and we have decided to come in Friday through the Yalakom instead of through Bralorne. We are expecting to take the Sea-To-Sky through Whistler and Pemberton, then through Mt. Cury to D'Arcy. Then up to Seton Portage and the Highline Road to Carpenter Lake. Then Mission Mountain route to the Yalakom FSR. We will do Poison Mountain and camp somewhere around there Friday night. Saturday we will head toward Swartz Lake. Anyone else into this?

new way in

Heh Bill

Since I did Hurley last time I would like to take a new way in. I may be coming up Pemberton, Duffy, Lillooet to Yalakom FSR. It looks like a long haul :steer: and so more pavement the quicker to the 'play area' -- I reckon. I think Mat and the boys are going in that way. Plans may change - who knows - keeps the excitement up -- If its wet - its gumbo city ahead. Boorah :smokin:

Its not Boorah its HOORAH!

Bill we are heading in Thursday afternoon. I have never been up to Poison mountain, is there a place to camp up top?

The D'Arcy to Seton passage will take some time you might end up camping by Carpenter on Friday night. It looks interesting though. We might cross paths either Friday evening or Saturday. Marcin, Robert, Pawel, Aaron, maybe Drew and Glenn and myself are looking at just heading to Lillooet and getting to camp along Yalakom FSR in a laid back time line. Enjoy a nice relaxing evening and hit the trails hard core on Saturday. so there you go Bill, 7 more on the list.

The Yalakom FSR is a very long stretch of high speed gravel travel from Lillooet to Poison Mtn. We did that last time. There are a couple of roadside campsites on the river, almost to Poison Mtn. Its 2WD so the campsites may be taken by Honda Civics.
Aaron: Poison Mtn is a desolate toxic rock and you wouldn't want to camp at the top. Go up and enjoy the view. Come back down and there are some campsites near the big crossroad intersection near the south base of the mountain. The mapbooks are the s***s for this area, and sometimes the GPS does not show properly either. I got confused, circled the mountain twice before we figured out which way to Swartz Lake from there. Anybody who is prone to getting lost better have a good mapbook or you'll be sorry. I recall that we had to go North for a bit before the road to Swartz circles around and heads South. There are signposts but its still confusing. Watch out for bears. Take bells and pepper spray! Leave keys in a metal box so we can still drive your vehicle even if the bears get you! :D

I'm not going to be able to make it. Have my surgery today, going to be out of commision for up to 12 weeks. You guys have fun.

Polish crew: take lots of photos. ;)

good luck

Good luck and heal up fast - miss your grin on the runs.

Rather than hiding without a response, I'll confirm my extreme lameness and say I can't make it. I wish I had a medical or work excuse, but I don't. Other family stuff has come up for the long weekend and I've got two other camping weekends in September, so I will need to pass on the long weekend trip.:frown:

Craig get well period!

Since I won't be attending this run, would anyone like to borrow my new toy for the weekends adventure?
No not my 81, but I did receive the 12v bug zapper if anyone wants to test it out.

And have a good recovery Craig.

Craig, I hope the surgery goes well and you get the results you are hoping for. Look forward to seeing you on the trails when you heal up. Jeff, did you get the Koolatron one? might be either too cold or rainy for the mosquitoes. Where abouts are you, I might be able to swing by and borrow it just in case.
