Were would I get some L.E.D.S. for interior lighting? I know that there is some l.e.d.s that work in the dome lights. I need some of those and I am looking for l.e.d.s that I want to mount inside the vehicle on separate switches for superior light inside my Cruiser. Thanks

Task Led (TaskLED Home) sells a LED light you can use in both front and rear dome lights (the rear's require a little modificaiton).

I purchased the 31mm high output festoon led for the front from here: High Power LED Festoon Bulb Specifications. these guys also sell LED's that will replace your instrument lights.

Do a search on the 80's forum. There's a guy over there that has replaced just about every interior light with an LED.

I think I rember seeing someone in the 80 area selling them. Georges LED's. If you search in the 80 forum im sure it will pop up. Here is his user name: george_tlc
Good luck,

I am very happy with the TaskLEDs I purchased from George. I live out in the country, so when it's dark, it's dark. They work extremely well. I put one in the rear as well and now actually use that light. It was almost useless before, but so was the dome light for that matter. The bulbs aren't cheap, but they work well and should last for a long time. Plus, how often can you say you did an upgrade to your cruiser that not only cost less than $100, but you didn't even get dirty installing it?

George's LED = TaskLED. Great guy, great lights!

I have also replaced both the front and rear lights in mine with LED's they are well worth the investment of time/money.

Just a note - not all LEDs are created equal. George's LEDs use a circuit board to efficiently obtain the proper voltage (I think it converts from 12v to 3v IIRC). (I think it is a "switching voltage regulator" but I could be wrong about the terminology)

Cheap LEDs either run the wrong voltage or use a resistor to obtain a voltage drop to to the right voltage.

One of the great things about LEDs is their efficiency (i.e. not running down your battery when you leave your door ajar)

So you can go to radio shack and get a LED and resistor for about $2. I was more than happy to spend the $30 apiece for George's LEDs. But if you just want LED light you can go cheaper. You will still get the benefit of, most likely, never having to replace that bulb.

Custom Dynamics has always treated me good. He even takes your suggestions into consideration. For example I asked him if he could make a running/brake/turn signal cluster and the next months news letter it was the feature just as I had described it. Technically he makes them for motorcycles and I've bought them for that and a trailer so far but they are good products and I will use them on my cruiser when I get to that point.
