Hello everyone, am searching for the software of the ecu 89661-60250. I don't know if it is possible to get it. All owners of kzj78 early or late will have the problem of capacitors or others with this ecu, and maybe would be possible getting the original software and to program other ecu with it.
Some years ago i was working with other ecu, 89661-60520, i managed to start and drive the toy but with less power in engine. The pin in/out is different between both ecu's. If we can get the original software of the 250, maybe we can program it in the 520 being it more easy to find.

As far as I am aware this style of ECU has chips which are non flash-able... So you cannot edit the programs and doesn't have a facility to connect to a PC... I don't know of anyone who has tried to play with it. Only thing is the piggyback boxes which modify the signals to the ecu to change the fuel curve...

Thanks for your reply, i didn't know that. In that case the owners of kzj78 we are doomed to assemble a mechanical diesel pump. There isn't options to clon this ecu or to use other type/model/reference of ecu?

I have been reading your thread about the change to manual pump but at this moment am a bit lost...
The 89661-60250 is a engine and tranny ecu. I remember that the lj78 have 2 ecu's, one for the engine (2lte) and other independent for automatic transmission, this one only receive some signals from engine and TPS.
Could you help me if am right?
-From engine only we need the signal of rpm.
-From TPS, the signal of it.

Would you know how to make the a343f work with the ecu of lj78? I know that the jeep Cherokee works with the same automatic transmission maybe the ecu of jeep can work correctly.

There is a guy on the forum here who used to tune Toyota MR2 ECU's. He used the same software/hardware package to tune his 1KZTE ECU with incredible results. So it can definitely be done. Might be worth contacting him. Here is the build thread where he did that work (talks about tuning on the last page):

Hi.. I've installed a 2nd ecu system.. by zietronix.. I'm still beta testing it.. but it has both narrow & wideband outputs.. new inputs are: egt , boost, & o2 sensors, piggyback signals: rpm, oil/water temp, + a couple extras..
Hooks up via a rs232 to a laptop, software is free.. real time tracking via graphs..
Cheers
p.s. cheaper than a conversion to mech injection pump :)

Thanks for your reply GTTSportCoupe am goin to try to contact with him to learn more about that mr2 ecu. I would like to ask you if you remember the refference of the ecu of automatic transmission of your lj78? i would like to investigate some posible options before to start to change.

Thanks you too Ebike toter, it is a good option too, you mean that you can control the engine injection pump and the automatic transmission with the zietronic ecu system? sorry i don´t know that system, could you please help me with more information about it?, reference of ecu, name of software, etc? I have only a bit experience with electronic systems but i have here a friend who is working on his own system of telemetry control car.

A4x4... I am still beta testing the zietronix kit.. as soon as I get back on the road I'll continue the beta testing.. but the good is I will be writing software codes which I can customize.. and will be free for all fellow cruiserheads..
I don't sell anything.. just an idea & application guy :)

Hi, is a very good project really i would like to help you to develop it but i don't know if we have the same engine, i have been reading some of your threads and i have seen that your engine is the 2lt-e. Thanks too to share your experience with crazycruisers :)

A..4x4 yes I have a 2l-te but it's all the same.. all the stand alone ems does is follow inputs from multiple sensors.. and send out signals based on user input... as long as your cruiser is an efi model all is good.. the OEM ecu uses the 2 resistors on the denso injection pump to advance timing and increase fuel supply.. my goal is to have 8 or more programs.. for anything to heavy 4x4 in low to super economical mode for highway... in Australia it seems quite common to see 25mpg + highway :).. with my phase 1 mech mods i am averaging 16.4 mpg & i haven't even started to write the codes for the standalone ecmc system.. btw.. i am towing s trailer with a gvw of 7,560# at half tank..
It would be great if you wanted to assist.. sometimes its tiring going where cruisers have not yet been.
Cheers

im liking the sound of preset tunes, Im getting around 8.5-9.0 litres per 100km at the moment which is pretty good for my 1kzte but would like to crank up more power by fooling around with the resistors on the pump
Was going to do the 4M40 diesel pump swap but might hold off on this to watch your results

It'll be a couple weeks till I'm settled in Denver.. but the designs for upgrades keep rattling round my brain.. shooting for bulletproof 250hp & monster torque...
I'll start a new thread so all my cruiserheads can follow & help me with their input..
Thanks to all for your support

That would be great. My kzj78 takes around 12 litres each 100km but pushing a 33"tires :(
Tell me how can I help you when you be ready.
Greetings

Will do :) meanwhile I have the Zietronix ecm installed.. i suggest you read up on this .. i got it off ebay with the O2 & boost sensors.. the egt sensor is extra.. all plug into the main computer..

Hi Ebike. The system you've bought is quite nice for monitoring/logging engine parameters. It seems to be intended to operate in conjunction with 3rd party stand alone engine management system, or piggy back fuel controller.

So I'm a bit confused as to your intentions with it as it has no control or output capability. Are you planning on using it with another system capable of modifying your fuel/timing curves?

There is only one system I've come across so far that is capable of modifying the step pulse (duration) sent to the spill control valve. I believe it was from a German company. I'll see if I can find it again....

Sorry for delay, these weeks am traveling around France and Germany. I will try to learn about it. Greetings

Hi GTSSportcoupe, if finally you can find them, maybe i can go there (in Germany) to ask about that system.
Greetings

is this just open road? my LJ78 with an intercooled 2lte - im getting an average of 12-12.5 ltrs per 100kms and its on 31 a/t's

though i spend 2-3 hours a day sitting in Auckland traffic during the week...
