I purchased this front hub flange off ebay 43421-60060 GENUINE TOYOTA LEXUS LX470 FRONT AXLE HUB OUTER SHAFT FLANGE LH / RH | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/395286969656
It stated it was genuine toyota. It came in a really crumpled up toyota box with the labels and everything. However, the flange itself was in a zip lock bag and upon inspection, it had some nicks on it. I can't tell if it's a refurbished toyota part, or an aftermarket part altogether. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be any stamping on it that would say if it's genuine? I was just hoping to get rid of the thunk in my driveline with this. I guess it's a simple enough part that as long as the splines are clean, it should serve the purpose. But I hate getting screwed by getting something that's less than what I paid for.

Looks legit. Nice machining and solid teeth cutting.

That's what makes me feel so torn about it. On one hand the machining looks good, but on the other there are a few nicks and imperfections here and there. I would expect it to be flawless if this is really brand new. I haven't seen an actual brand new one from toyota direct, to tell whether this is normal or not.

It looks like a new part that's been riding around as a spare in an overland rig for a while, hence the beat up box. The new ones I've had are not perfect. The teeth are where it matters, and they look great. It should do the job just fine.

I will say this, if you are buying two of them, there is no reason to buy on eBay. I just bought 2 of them and weighed buying them from eBay or Partsouq. Given shipping on each one from eBay, the cost balanced out to buy from Partsouq, with the one thing separating them being guaranteed legit from Partsouq. But it does appear that yours is of good quality, so likely legit.

Why oh why do people gamble on "Genuine" from eBay? No offense, OP, but if you want the peace of mine just get parts from one of the many verified "good" vendors talked about on here like Partsouq, Amayama, Impex Japan, Megazip, MotorsHead Japan, or even dealers in the US that offer good prices.

I personally wait for Toyota to put on a sale of 20% off or more + free shipping if it's for parts that are "nice to have". I then shop to find the dealer with the best out the door prices.

This site helps, too:

Why? Because if the part is genuine, like the listing states, then I will receive it within 3 days of ordering, and cheaper than any of the sources listed on cruisin4parts. Now, if I was placing a large order for multiple parts that I can wait to be delivered, and especially parts where genuine is an absolute must, I will no doubt be placing an order with the manufacturer.

Clearly your peace of mind is dinged, though. Sure you get it sooner, but it took time to post about it on here and you have been second guessing it since arrival. Like others have said... that part is probably genuine but clearly it's been banging around somewhere or on a shelf or whatever.

I bought "Genuine" TPMS sensors off of eBay (4 for $45). Sure, they came in a Toyota box but they were clearly aftermarket. I was expecting aftermarket for the price, but since it's a low stakes thing like a sensor I didn't care. I doubt even the box was genuine as the counterfeit market for parts is huge.

It's been fascinating to see mindsets on here for folks that buy one of the most well-built vehicles Toyota ever made and then rolling the dice on eBay parts to save a few bucks and being surprised things aren't great.

Pic of label from eBay ad looks suspicious. AFAIK, there is no RH vs LH designation. They are the same part.

For what it's worth, every single Partsouq order I have placed arrived in about 4 days.

That said, the teeth on the flange you ordered look good. I wouldn't hesitate to run it.

For reference, this is how mine were packaged from Partsouq.

I agree, but with that being such a low volume low cost part, I can't see China Inc bothering to clone it?
