Kings Chariot is a showroom dealer in Jacksonville FL. (From their website) ...... Anyone had experience with these guys? They seem to always have nice Cruisers although they often seem a tad pricey?
Thanks

I do have a vehicle from them, Tho I did not deal with them directly. I purchased vehicle from the man who bought it from them (He had a need for money immediately). The vehicle I have is Very very very clean. The fact is I called and spoke to Mario (Owner) and didn’t receive a warm conversation. Wish I could give more insight for you.... Yet can’t. I will tell you, I have never seen a cleaner vehicle than my 100. Every inch is like it rolled out from Japan Areco factory.
You may look at Miramar Motorsports, Hear nothing butt good about them (3 brothers) They specifically sell Yota vehicles. Anything super clean with records will be a premium! Also Miramar will ship coast to coast for about $1800. Either that or Start looking closer at Private sellers rigs, many avenues for that.
Good luck and happy trails

Oh and....Mechanical statement: The Vehicle is Very nice. I recently replaced Cv Axles after 20k on a new OME lift, so that’s not uncommon. I changed fluids and that’s it. Vehicle is good. I don’t think they would be selling as many as they do if it was falling apart. Also The reputation of the company would be well known.

S.W. Georgia isn't exactly teaming with 100 Series / LX470's with the exception of the local plantations which have them by the dozens but seldom sell them. KC was simply a reasonably close source.
Thanks for the replies.....

I’ve had two dealings with them in the past prior to buying my D90 and LR4. They are steeply priced and are known to sell rigs with known issues without reporting to potential buyers. Mario is also a bit of a pretentious jerk. You’re better off shopping elsewhere.

I got an 06 cruiser from them sight unseen. I have somewhat mixed feelings. I would do it again but I bargained hard and got it at what I believe is a fair price.

The vehicle I received was heavily reconditioned, and poorly at that. interior completely resprayed, leather had thick cracking paint on it. overspray on interior windows and carpets took 2 months and lots of detailing $$$ to fix. It reeked of chemicals too for a long time. Tons of touch up work on the exterior as well of mixed quality. I explicitly asked them if they did any work or reconditioning and Mario told me that the vehicle was exactly as they got it from the original owner and they didn’t do anything.
Mechanically it’s a good car but they are not 100% straight shooters. Better than average for a used car dealership but they are very much a used car dealer.

Anytime I mentioned doubts about the vehicle history to Mario, he got unprofessionally rude. That alone was a red flag to me. They have several GX/LX listed on eBay this very moment that I’m hard pressed to believe their stories on. Not to mention $5-7k above any reasonable value.

I purchased a 100 from them two years ago. I wish I didn't. I spoke with Mario over the phone about the vehicle and was given many assurances about the condition of the vehicle, both cosmetically and mechanically. "Rust free, no leaks" etc. He even started that the 100,000 mile service was completed with timing belt replaced. Of course, it's on me for purchasing the vehicle sight unseen. When the vehicle arrived, it had a check engine light on. There was no sticker indicating the timing belt had been replaced. There was clearly rust that was painted over on the undercarriage. The horn did not function. The lights on the bull bar were amateurly spliced. The ARB roof rack was incorrectly installed where the roof would leak in rain. The hood did not align with the fenders, shaking as I drove. New steering rack, new axles, brake job, brake master cylinder... I had to put a lot of money into this truck. They claim to be an ARB dealer. Not sure who installs their gear, but it's unprofessional to put it mildly.

From the sounds of this forum, they're hit or miss, but I've said my peace about the company and will never do business with them again.

So recently purchased an LX470 from a guy that originally bought it from KC. His gripes were many, but ultimately he spent his first year of ownership working out a ton of quirks that weren’t disclosed. She was a one owner then with relatively low mileage and super clean inside and out (rust free). They threw in all the ARB bells and whistles including bumper, winch, rack, awning, lift, wheels and tires. No issues with any of the upgrades. It does, however, seem they neglected a host of pm items that one could argue should have been addressed before listing as a “premium, high-condition rig”. Most notably, timing belt and water pump service and some abs issues. All that being said, many, if not most of these trucks we’re discussing are pushing the 15-20yr mark and have more than 150,000 on the clock. I’m not quite sure it’s advisable to pay a premium for any of these things, no matter how pretty they look, expecting to circumvent maintenance cost entirely. Dealers are in it for the money...period...nothing wrong with that. Just be careful jumping to the conclusion that spending big money up front negates the need to spend it later...regardless of who you buy from.
