Yeah, tugged back to the pits, put in a new transmission then started back out, all I heard on the radio was "would someone tell Shannon to get off the course" bout ten times.

This says it all..........

I planned on wheeling some today (saturday) but when I got up, I just didn't feel like it. Slept in the back seat of the truck from Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. I didn't feel like setting it up in the friggin wind. After helping in a pit and then later going out to "find" the driver, Friday was a long day. I am convinced now to shop for a drop in camper.

Man the comp rigs as a whole had a crap ton of carnage. Fires, Transmissions, Axle Housings, Shocks.... you name it. The pit I "helped" in (Bigelow) has battery/alternator issues, and later on snapped the shaft on the FOA shock. Yup DNF, but he drove it down backdoor, using his winch rope tied to the cage to control travel.

All in all I had a blast. Got to meet tons of people from here and PBB, which has never been a bad thing. Getting to see some of these rigs in person was a real treat too.

Wow that was a crazy trip.. The Hammers is BADASS. what a killer event..

Congrats to Justin Reece (Rusty Nail) for finishing in a full tub Rig!

I dont think there is a good decription of how badass that trail is............:p

It was windy on Thursday during the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). I managed to hang onto the side of the canyon and snap a few pictures. The action was pretty good. These guys (and gals) really wanted to get into the competition.

I'm sure you will appreciate the choice of support vehicle positioned to winch competitors over the waterfall. ;)

I have a few pics of race day, but spent most of the day in the BFG pit waiting for a rig that never came. :frown:

Here's a FAST trip up Backdoor during the LCQ.

No backing up and barely stopping. Very impressive and very rare!

This is a more typical "successful" trip up the same spot:
