Recently having key issues.
Key in ignition and some times it will turn sometimes not.
Is this the key cylinder issue. Key will not lock drivers side door either.
It will open it pretty easily but does not lock it.

Nope, sounds more like a worn out key. Sight down the key and see if it's still straight, they can end up twisted after a lot of use.

Try another key?

If it's the "issue" it will just turn freely in the ignition but never work so that fortunately is not the problem.

RE:

Okay I am having the same issue.
got a new key cut to VIN, helped for a little while then it starts acting up again after a few months.
took it too dealership they said my ignition is wearing out. part is $200 bucks, install $200 and anew key $300. OUCH..
so I called a locksmith, he told me that the Toyota lock wafers(kind of like tumblers in a lock) wear out, he says he sees this happen in Toyotas quite frequently. if I bring both locks to him he can re-wafer them and I should never have this problem again. maybe $200... I will try to keep you posted on this and tell you how it goes. may try to take it apart tonight but I don't think he is working tomorrow, New years day .... Happy New Year.

I had similar issues with the lock cylinder on our 2002 Sienna, fixed it by spraying some WD40 onto the cylinder and working it back and forth, then re-lubing with some silicone spray.

Worth a try before dropping the cash on a locksmith.
