***********SOLD************

This was the truck I took to shows for Red Dirt. Need a full size truck now. it has 167k miles on it and had been well taken care of since I bought it at 130k. It has had the waterpump and timing belt done at 120k so no need again until 210k.

Asking $23,367 OBO - a steal considering the aftermarket parts alone cost a bit over $28k not including shipping and labor!!! You're easily over $35k just on aftermarket including when you include labor and shipping costs for everything if someone wanted to duplicate this build. We're talking, gears, bumpers, lockers, winch, lights etc. See build thread below for more details.

When the gears were done we upgraded the rear pinion and yolk to the upgraded and stronger splines to match the newer models.

Lot's spent on maintenance over the last few years (including a brand new OEM rack and pinion) and all parts were replaced with OEM. Interior is in pretty good shape for 167k miles. Front seats have some wear and cracking but no tears. Not perfect but ready for amazing overlanding.

Disclosure on audio: there is some crackling from the rear door speaker. I think the amp may need to be replaced (it's an older Sony xPlod I had in my FJ Cruiser before and was in someone's 4runner before that) so I will negotiate on that. The sub in the back is in a box made for the factory location in the FJ. Before deciding to sell I was going to pull it and have the factory box expanded for a 6" sub to get that room back (I have a weathertech mat for back there but can't put it in. Also wanted it out for a drawer system. If that is a must I can have that done before selling.

I updated the thread with some more maintenance stuff. Somewhere between $5-10k has been spent on maintenance and restoration (on top of the $35k in aftermarket). I have records of service and most receipts as well. Someone's getting a steal on this bad boy!

Still for sale. Last buyer couldn't make it down for a few weeks. Dealership said they may give me close to what I want for it too, surprisingly. I will likely have to take some parts off to sell if I go that route but going this weekend to check.

You’d be surprised what the lower gears does for power! Plus - headers and an exhaust (they’re pretty poor flow oem) and you’d have more power than a stock 06. Just a thought. Lower gears plus the exhaust? Boom! Was going to be my next mod.

Do you have any current shots of chassis, armor (belly, etc), and interior? That would help us potential remote buyers, thanks!

I wish this was a 06-07. I would be all over it. I need more power to pull my trailer.
Great job on the build though.

FWIW I drove a couple of 06-07 and compared it to my 01 and i could not tell a difference in power, all of them seems slow lol. Just the nature of the beast.

This is a steal, i bet if you parted out the mods you can make more money that way.

Yeah, they definitely aren't quick. I've had a 99 and an 06, and I couldn't tell a big difference in power. I'm more for torque then HP.
I'm looking at 200 series for the 5.7's, but can't find one that suits me. Now my 80 and 60 series were slow haha...

@PcCruiser Put this beast on eBay. It’ll be gone in a week.

Great truck and thanks for always responding to PMs about your build, products, advise, etc.

From my experience, seller is a good dude.

Thanks bud! I've already got a deposit so it is essentially sold. Happy to see it go to a good home!
