I very much do appriciate the LC legacy!

Wife and I were driving with the kids today and across the light from us, facing us was a sight of beauty.

The conversation went like this:

"Wow" I said.

"Whats the matter?" the wife said.

"Oh nothing is wrong, look across the street, see that truck?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Thats another LC...looks like a 60's series. Now that is a classic!"

"Are you sure?" she said.

"Yeah honey, I am sure. Just wait till it passes, look for the LC name tag on the side" I said.

When it passed, there was the tag.

"Wow, I guess they do make these things to last forever huh?"
she said.

"Yup they sure do!"

So despite everything that I respond to on here....I DO appriciate the oldies but goodies!

The FJ60s get a lot of attention out here in Los Angeles. It's every rich guy's weekend toy.

As for the new 200. I saw one today at Toyota Central, and it was parked next to a 4Runner. When I saw it, I knew it was a Land Cruiser. It just looks heavy duty when compared to the other Toyotas.

You have a Manik "bull bar" (read "bling bling brush guard damage multiplier") on your truck. If that is any indicator, you need to get off those mall speed bumps and start hitting some trails. And when you do, good luck with that 2-pinion front diff on your '98. The 200-series' front diff isn't laughably weak like yours. But then I guess a 2-pinion front diff makes your truck "unique", right?

Here is something that I feel would be very beneficial to the 200. I was looking at one up at the dealership from the side view and there was just something that kept getting my attention...The 200 doesn't have quite the pronounced wheel flairs the 100 has and when looking at the 200 from the side, there isn't anything that breaks the slab-sided view of the doors and fenders..It needs to have have a horizontal bumper strip 3/4 the way down the side to break up the vast expanse of the sheet metal..This would not only give the sides some "character" but would also be quite beneficial in absorbing the inevitable door dings instead of the sheet metal taking them..I am surprised there isn't something available like this that could be dealer installed..It would serve as both a functional and cosmetic purpose....

I'm not trying to pick the thing apart, in fact, I have started to like its looks more and more...I have seen some pics of the LX version and I will reserve my final thoughts until I see one in person but my gut instinct from what I have seen so far is that I prefer the interior of the LX but like the exterior of the LC better.. So, I have accomplished nothing !!

Either you can't read or you don't understand plain English. In all the treads I have said 200 lloks like a Highlander. I did not compare the 200 to 100 or even to the Highlander as far as it's capability on the trails or the on the roads. So read the Fawking treads before you reply. If you don't understand the meaning of the "LOOKS" go ask your mama. All the other previous LC are unique in their LOOKS...well you would not understand ...
