How about the rear shocks? How do you get access to the top bolts?

There is a how to in the FAQ. It also links to the directions for the hole method mentioned above.

It only took me about 1/2 hour total to do the rear without having to cut a hole above the rear shocks. So, I would recommend cutting a hole as a last resort. But, everyone has a differing opinion on this and none of them are necessarily wrong. Good luck!

Agreed. I would never cut a hole unless I had to. I have swapped 3 sets of shocks on the woo with no hole and never had an issue other than a few brief 4 letter words.

11 years in the salt belt and I didn't have to cut a hole. Get a set of BF channel locks, a pipe wrench, or a strap wrench to hold the shock body in place while you ratchet it off. Please don't cut holes in your LC!

My advice ito how much to turn that locknut in would be to go till it stops. The reason for that is you dont want to expose the rubber cushion to the threaded part of the stubb otherwise it wont last its design time, the other reason is that once everything settled in you will soon have play on your shock (and you wont be able to feel it be hand), that will cause your tyres to run down fast and irregular, so tighten the nuts till it stops at the end of the allowed thread, it is designed like that.
