Just got my 1998 1HDFTE imported from Japan; got it here in VA about 2 months after shipping it from there.

Just some brag photos. Feels like I met my long lost friend again after years of separation. I shortly thought about selling it rather than shipping, but it's here now.

Going to be doing most of the services myself; it's probably safe to schedule a timing belt change, and I found a shop that claims they focus on Japanese cars (name is literally Japanese Auto Masters), so I'll ask them if they would work on imported diesels like this.

As for simple services like oil and filter changes, or other parts for the future, where would be good spot to purchase? Maybe locally just for a reason to visit auto part shop, but online as well. I'm aware of PartSouq and I wrote down potential near-future maintenance parts, but I like having options.

Local chain auto parts shops would probably only have 2UZ gas engine parts only to look up in their inventory system.

Looks like PartSouq ships from UAE; are there good options from Austrailia? I assume aftermarket pieces.

Thanks for the attention. Cheers.

In case anyone in the future coincidentally looks up the part numbers and saves few minutes

Welcome to the club, that's a good looking HDJ100 (aside from those offensive wheels). Check out Amayama - they have probably the best selection of Toyota parts, cheaper than Partsouq and they ship from Japan and UAE.

Hey, appreciate the advice. I'll definitely check it out after the kids fall asleep.

A right choice of words on my wheels 🙂↕️ back when I got the land cruiser from auction with its original tires bent beyond use, getting the current wheel set with brand new winter tires already on them was financially the right choice...in a short run. I do want to change it because I dislike how flashy they are. Pending wheel shopping. Do you have any suggestions?

I have the OEM R16s on mine, so personally I'd be looking for those. Throw a set of BFGs on them and call it a day

Well shoot I had to toss out the OEM wheels because they were pretty damaged. Other small part is that I don't really like their stock wheel design 😂 good on you! I won't be doing anything offroading at all anytime soon until kids are at least 3 and 5, no rush for me.

Hey, I finally checked out Amayama, and this website is incredible. More available parts compare to PartSouq I think, but what I appreciate the most is the website interface. So much easier to navigate around and look for what I need compare to PartSouq. Really appreciate it.
