Just Bought a 2000 LX 470

I was looking at buying one for the longest time. The market for the cars is unlike any other. You can go on autotrader and find examples for 30k+. I wasn't going to spend that much for mine. Mine has 175k miles and I bought it for 5800. I'm the third owner, the timing belt was just replaced. Going to get an oil change tomorrow.

It does have rust on the rear upper decklid. i think that I'll buy one off ebay or craigslist and have it painted. The Nakamichi audio headunit has a CD stuck in it, and the tape player was making a buzzing sound when I tried putting in a cassette adapter. The power antenna doesn't go up either. Just needs a really good detailing

But it runs awesome. Everything is tight and precise. Shifts well for a 15 year old car. Awesome buy considering I paid 5800.

Looking at this another way, you paid approx $1 per lb. of car.

make sure you change out the AHC oil and go to the Toyota dealer and get 2 containers. It is very easy to do; there is threads on here on how to do it. you never know what the PO's have put in there. Also change the transmission filter and oil; it is a one banana job. I used a NAPA Filter with AMSOIL ATF. You stole it indeed. The stereo system is ok; but the CD player is crap. The antenna just might need a new mast. Enjoy!!!

That was the plan to do AHC and Trans. It's extremely cold here in Ohio, would it be a good idea to defer it for a month or just get it done at the shop?
