Tool Seller on ebay is liquidating a bunch of USA, Taiwan and some Japanese made 70s and 80s vintage tool sets, mainly Ratchet sets and some wrenches.
There's quite a few more, you'll have to search through the seller's pile to see if there's anything that appeals to you. These aren't tool truck quality, but say, Montgomery Wards or local hardware back in the day. I bought a few different ones as emergency kits for my different vehicles, as they all come in a quality, old-skool metal box (I hate blow-molded), that you can stuff extra things in like a 12mm and 14mm wrench and some gloves and a rag.
My fav of the lot turns out to be the Taiwan Thorsen set with short and deep socket in a good metal case. Fits perfectly in a small canvas tool bag and quality of the bits is excellent. Can't beat the prices, either, compared to current CCP or quality Taiwan stuff. And FWIW, those open-end and box-end wrench sets are incredible quality and a steal at that price. Super Beefy.
