I found this early fj in a yard south of Richmond, va. Lots of rot, but some good stuff there. Hardtop sides are corrugated, so earlier than '65, maybe? most glass is there, doors are eaten up, vent windows are there. jump seats gone, front bench frame looks ok. most switches are there. I can take a closer look if anyone is interested.

Are there bug catcher vents windows on the doors or are these the later style vent windows? I know somebody who is looking the plug in the doors below the later style vent windows and could really use them.
If it has the factory heater I usethe defrost hoses and elbows. Plus the bracket for the heater controls. Also the steering wheel if it isn't cracked.
I would get the wiper and light switches I know you could find a buyer for them.

Thanks John

not sure what the difference is btw bug catcher vent windows and the later version? They do have white knobs if that helps id them.

the factory heater is there, but I'll have to look again for hoses/elbows/heater bracket.

the steering wheel is cracked.

I'll try to get to the yard before xmas.

I need the switches, especially the headlight switch if they're available.

The white knobs make me think they are bug catcher windows. The knobs were on the front of the vent window aabout half way up? The later style have a chrome handle on the bottom torwards the back. Like me know about the heater parts. PM. Just in case I forget to check back.

yes, knobs about halfway up. i will pm with an update re: windows and heater stuff.

I'll pull all of the switches/knobs as well. Can't remember whether the headlight switch is there or not. if it is, I'll grab it.

if the bezel is stamped,,, grab it fer me

Since it has a factory heater chances are it is a 65. Stamped LAND CRUISER bezel ended sometime during 1963.

Another thing of interest is the vent on the side of the cowl for fresh air. This one should be at a 45 degree angle. The 66 thru 71 are straight. Since the factory heater was a option in 64/65 these are pretty rare. I like the earlier more. I already have a couple so I don't need it. Maybe someone else does. If no else wants it and they don't want much for it I will take. Hate to see it get scrapped. Really the same with the heater itself. Defrost vents in the windshield if it's the style with vent in the bottom.

I would be intersted in the heater, the hood "spear" and the wiper arms. Also, if the gas tank is not rusted out, I would be interested in that too!

You should just buy the fj and part it out! :D

Some good body parts up front:

bib
aprons
split hood

corrugated sides with glass--rear of sides would need some repair.

edit: photos taken w/ my phone. I can take better ones if needed.
