Woody, I wanted to say thanks again for your help at Golden Crack.
We met your group on Golden Spike after we had our lunch break on the top of skyline drive and your group took their lunch in the shade and pulled out just in front of our little group of three Jeeps...
I got admittedly a little antsy as my Jeep was having some cooling issues creeping being the 14 toyotas (I was seeing 235 to 240!).
I think the toyota gods reached down and stuck my jeep afterwards... :whoops: As you remember, I bent my TRE on my draglink to that at full left lock of my steering wheel, my tires were still pointed right.
Thanks for your help pinching off my hard brake line though.
My Jeep did end up okay there and we were able to get off the trail from Golden Crack in about 4 hours. The next morning I picked up a new hard line and waited for UPS to show up. We found out that they weren't going to get there until around 5pm, so we hit up Arches NP for the day.
My new "right hand drive" TRE showed up (and I ordered an extra for next time) so we took off from our camp about 6pm.
My buddies drove like men on a mission and we literally did ALL of Gold Bar rim in under an hour. In another 20 minutes we were back at Golden Crack and found my Jeep exactly as we had left it.
One friend jumped on the draglink, the other jumped on the hard brake line. in under 40 minutes, both were fixed and good to go. We cracked open some sodas and took some pics of the amazing sunset from the crack.
We made it a little farther as the light dwindled and got to finish Golden Spike and Gold Bar Rim as a night wheelin' trip. It was actually pretty cool!
Here's me showing off my red LED rock lights:
Thanks again for your help/support/advice. We made it out w/o issue and were back on pavement by 10:10pm!
On our last trail day, we did Hells Revenge and managed to get tippy in some spots, but avoided any "issues".
Nice meeting you Woody!
