I'm referring to the machines that can jumpstart your truck without the need of another car. I picked one up today, 350 peak amps, 12 volt yadda yadda.... I saw one that was a 40 dollars more with a 900 peak amps which was the only difference. My question is what does the difference in amps do? Make it easier for the jump-start system to jump a car? Or is it used for big rigs or what not. Can anyone show some insight?

--In the past 2 weeks I've left the my damned lights on 3 times and had to get the cruiser jumped

Thats why I bought the jump start system today. :D

On a side note most cruisers have lights that cut off automatically whenever you open the drivers side door.... Might want to search and see if you can fix it or rig yours up to do it...itll keep you from needing that new jump box

That would help me out, I've had the truck for a year never had a problem with the lights now within the past weeks I've had the thing jumped 3 or 4 times.

I don't think the 91s headlights cut off when the door's opened. I think this feature was added with the FZJ80.

I have a portable battery that works as a jump-start battery. Mine has served me quite well. I'd pay the extra few bucks and go with the bigger one. There's nothing more frustrating than having to pull one of these out to use only to find that it doesn't have enough juice to start you up.

Make sure you keep yours charged...otherwise it's pretty useless as well.

I have one I got at Costco 7+ years ago.......its jumped MANY of cruisers and just keeps working.

Eric is correct, 91-2 headlights dont shut off when the key is off and the door opened.
