Hybrid Tacoma's welcome? I have a tonneau cover on order and should be here and installed before this trip. I've already removed the ARB sport bar (pictured). Can't have that and a cover. Cover is more important to secure camping gear!

Bring your rods, I heard there are streams and lakes in the area.I have this on my schedule , sounds like an adventure !!
Tonneau cover arrived and I installed it this morning. Now I need to figure out how to best put in my camping gear and secure it! I like it better without the ARB bar.Hybrid Tacoma's welcome? On Sunday 7/21, we'll have a breakfast party before departing camp #2 for home.
I have not been on these trails so I can only take us as far as trail conditions allow, that means we may need to turn around and/or find alternatives to get to where we want to go. If you have had prior experience in the area, please add details here especially areas to be cautious when approaching.
Reply here if you are interested in joining our run.
I hope to see you there.

I called and check conditions with High Sierra Ranger District (559) 855-5355. A few housekeeping items:Please see the starter post for latest updates. It will be a basecamp and explore type of run.
I’m interested in going. Camping will be dispersed in different areas? Any requirements for rig on these trails? What’s is the meet up time on Thursday?Alright, Alright, Alright!

We're heading to Western Sierra... Thursday to Sunday July 18-21, 2024
UPDATED July 08, 2024: I received quite a bit of information about the area from the veterans and locals in one form or another. There are too many unknowns for parts of the original plan so I've revised the run:
I have not been on these trails so we'll travel as far as trail conditions and the least capable rig will allow, that means we may need to turn around and/or find alternatives to get to where we want to go.
- For those who can meet on Thursday 7/18, we will rendezvous for lunch at Shaver Lake Pub and Grub (37.10759, -119.31822) then head out to find camp along Rock Creek Road. I have marked several possible locations one of which was used a couple years ago when SoCal TLCA last visited the area (approximate coordinate 37.09104, -119.16467). After we set up camp, we can check out nearby trails, creeks, and lakes.
- We will spend Friday 7/19 driving North/North East to Dinkey Lakes Trailhead then hike to Mystery Lake. The hike is approximately 1.5 mile each way so bring comfortable shoes, water, and a walking stick.
- On Saturday 7/20, we will drive to Bald Mountain (37.10470, -119.20568) and explore the area. Depending on road conditions, we may need to hike up to the summit.
- Sunday 7/21, we will gather for breakfast before breaking camp and heading home.

The area is classified by the forest service as dispersed camping as opposed to improved or other types of camping. Your rig needs to be in good working order, if you drive up there it should be fine but if you tow it there, we’ll have to check. Frame mounted recovery points on both front and back are a must for the trails. You can still camp if you don’t have them. I’m planning to meet up between 12-1 pm.I’m interested in going. I don’t know how to get it from OnX. But we’ll run to Bald Moutain route to these coordinates 37.10511, -119.20354.Any trail gpx's for reference?
I was hoping to make it up but rig is getting long range tank in it and it’s not done yet. I’ll try to make it to the meeting and on the next trip.
