So I gotta get rid of at least one puppy to a good home. In case you haven't heard my wife and I picked up two puppies on the way to the BBQ @ Ken and Cee Cee's house recently. The pups are a lab/hound mix and are very well behaved. They are very good about not messing in the house which is surprising since our vet estimated them to be 6 weeks old - well 7 weeks old now.

Here is a little more info.

'Cruiser' is the big boy of the two. He likes to tussle more and has just found his bark which still seems to surprise him every time. He plays and eats well and will do his business as soon as his feet hit the grass. He is all black and appears to show much more lab than hound. He was estimated to be a medium sized dog and my guess is he will be anywhere from 45 to 65 pounds but its hard to tell without knowing his parents. Cruiser does have a hernia on his belly that can easily be fixed when he gets the big 'snip.' It doesn't bother him and isn't a health concern as far as I know.

'Roscoe' is the smaller boy. He is mostly black with a strip of white on his chest, belly and forehead. He loves to play too but is gentler and a bit more subdued than his bigger brother. He eats well also and will potty pretty soon after his paws hit dirt but usually is still in mid 'pee' when Cruiser has finished and therefore gets tackled while he is still finishing up. I estimate that Roscoe will be a bit smaller around 30 to 50 pounds but again I don't have a good way to really estimate.

Both puppies have had their first shots and are being dewormed. It seems that my wife would like to adopt one out and maybe two. Its hard to tell as she is pretty attached but a total of four dogs in our house is probably too much. These guys HAVE to go to a good home. If we can't find a good home for them then we will keep them. They are too cute and well behaved to have them go somewhere unknown. We will not take them to the pound to try and have them adopted out and will not run a paper ad etc. Anyone that we do not know well will have to prove that they know how to and will take care of the animals. I don't mean to sound like a grump. Lucky for us Ali's sister is a vet so we were able to get their first shots, deworming, exam and whatever else they had done at cost. We would like to be reimbursed for this cost per puppy. I think it was around $50 for each pup.

I have plenty of recipes for those interested....just kidding!

I met these lil guys at the BBQ and they are really sweet lil guys. Someone step up and take one home for Juicebox!

OK guys and girls - these pups are about to go up for open adoption. I would LOVE to keep them local. Both pups are growing fast. Cruiser is 11 pounds and Roscoe is 8 lbs. If anyone wants one please speak up!

These guys are growing. Roscoe was 9 pounds Cruiser was 12 pounds this weekend. They get another round of inoculations this coming weekend and have been given their last de-worming treatment. They have not had their man-hood 'snipped' yet. We are waiting until they are six months old or if someone wants to adopt them it will be done before they are adopted.

Both now have tons of energy and very distinct personalities. Ali and I now have then in an exercise pen during they day and they love to wrestle and tumble. They still eat well and are doing very well with house breaking.

These pups are still looking for a good home!!!

Little update.

Puppies are growing. Cruiser is 13 lbs and Roscoe is a little over 8 lbs. They are pretty much house broken (as long as you don't dilly daddle opening the back door) and have had another round of their shots and are done with their deworming treatment. I found out last evening that they love water. They chased water from a garden hose around the back yard for half an hour. I hope to get them to a lake this weekend to see how they like swimming.

These boys are still ready to go to a new home!

Bumpety Bump Bump!

These boys are still growing. Roscoe is 17 lbs and Cruiser (pronounced Cru-zah) is 20 lbs. Cruiser's paws are still much bigger than his body so he has some growing to do. His paws are webbed so we hvae been introducing him to swimming. We are still considering adopting Roscoe out but we found a good home for Cruiser. This gullible couple decided to adopt him. The husband actually owns a rusty 55 and decided that Cruiser was a perfect fit to ride in the back of his Piggie! :grinpimp:

Anyone want Roscoe?
