Well, not officially. I'm still waiting for him to find the Pink Slip. Otherwise it's kinda useless to restore. I think i will offer him 1000.00.Seems like a fair price considering all the feedback i have received from the pic's and info.
It's actually a sad story. about 6 months ago ,Sid asked if i was interested in buying his FJ40. I didnt know he owned one until he saw mine in the parking lot and told me he had a 65 sitting in his garage. I said i was interested and told him to get back to me with a price. Well, when i finally heard back about the truck,3 months later, it was his Dad asking me if i was still interested. Thats when he told me Sid was diagnosed with terminal cancer and needed to move the truck out of his apartment garage that week. So i got one of my Cruiser buddy's to help and went with his Dad to tow the cruiser back to my place until i could figure out if i wanted it or not. So, it's sitting here waiting for a title, otherwise i'll probably have to part it out for him.

Most DMV would allow lost title filing yeah?

Yeah, unfortunately the DMV wants 500.00 in penalties for not being registered since 2002.They could apply for a duplicta title , but requires a notary to verify signature. Then he would have to either transfer the vehicle to his Dad to avoid further taxes, and then his Dad could sell to me at his leisure. Problem is that Sid is not doing well and his Dad is in no condition to have to deal with all this insignificant B.S. in the midst of loosing his son. They have my offer of help in any way needed, so i'm not going to cause any needless stress over this.Whatever happens is meant to be.

I would have said that $1000 would have been a little high, but under the circumstances, offering any less would have not sat well with me either.

As for the papers for the rig, hang in there until they find it, but I wouldn't spend any money buying parts until they do...there is still plenty you can do on this '65 until the papers are found
