Has anyone found a way to mount a “Jerry can”, or other spare fuel container, to the FJ? With the fuel consumption being what it is I think extra fuel may be a must if I take this rig out for more than a day or two.

I just built a receiver hitch mount rack that holds fuel, water, and cooler. I even used scrap steel I had left over from other projects.:hillbilly:

i was expecting something tooooootally different.....:bounce2:

I expect that the aftermarket bumpers will provide the solution to this problem. The steel route for the armored bumpers also gives a good mounting location for swing away mounts, etc.

I would think a PS mounted swing away on a pivot would be ideal since it allows for a jerry can and can swing away minimally (toward the PS) to allow the door to open.

That is a great idea, I never would have thought to use my tow hitch for storage accesories...well maybe for a dirt bike but not something usefull on the trail...Thanks.

The receiver hitch is really handy. I also made one for my little motorbike.:D
