A friend was standing at the top of Daniel Saturday and watched this jeep roll five times down the hill. Don't think anyone was hurt, but two did ride all the way down. He said glass, tools and parts were flying everywhere.
Didn't know if anyone else saw this or not. Don't know the area, just assuming it is where he said it was. He said the only thing that stopped it was when the left front wheel caved in.
did it go end over end....hard to tell by pictures unless that was after it was righted and everyone got out....
only place I have ever worried about going over is the second set of ledges going up Daniel...but if you were going DOWN Daniel the wrong way I could see where you could go end over end but I think you would have to be dogging it in my opinion...or being really careless. Maybe that is this guys normal habit given the cage build it looks like he expects to roll....
Glad everyone was okay...hope they cleaned up his debris from the trail...and good thing a 2 pound sledge or wrench did not hit him during the roll.
My friend said it was all side rolls until the tire caught on the last. Was at the top and had to move out of the way for others to get around and got sideways on the top and gravity took its course.
A different angle, so you might be able to see if it is daniel area or not.
Signal seat belt strap, not five point.
I think guy with back to photo (center of pic) is owner.
Think that is the play area at top where there are a couple big rocks and stuff to play on.... I believe that is where Jason played in 80 last year on the December run and the other fella in FJ60 busted power steering hose while it was snowing and sleeting there....
There's a decent on hand account from the driver on nc4x4.com. Was just moving out of the way from one outcroppings on the top of Daniel, and it shifted wrong. Wasn't even going over any of the obstacles, just a lapse in concentration, I think.
I know how that goes on top of Daniel! Just not that bad, thank goodness!
wow....then i bet he was puckered up good and tight not expecting anything to happen. I wonder if a rock shifted under him or something... Glad everyone was okay.
