I was lucky enough to find an '87 JDM BJ74 while I was living in Tokyo, so of course I brought it home to the US. But on the drive from the docks at Long Beach, the clutch pedal sunk to the floor. After driving it 4 more hours home without using the clutch, I gave it a bleeding. I found there was a lot of air in the system, but the master cylinder was full (but very dirty). I thought it might be a one time deal, but it's happened 3 or 4 times now, and it's getting more frequent (especially on long drives without any clutch actuations).
I figure the slave cylinder seals are probably going bad and after a while they start to let air in (and the fluid gets forced out of the top of the master). So now I need some JDM parts, and I was wondering what the best source in the US is. I have the part numbers and asked my local Toyota dealership, but no luck; all of the clutch parts are BJ74 specific. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get this thing back on the road. Thanks!
