Hi all, in my past life I did all autox and working on sportcompact cars. So my 2 ton jackstands won't cut it any more, and my long throw 3 ton jack is at its limit.
Should I get a pair of 4 or 6 ton stands for upcoming suspension work? Any height limitations or minimums needed? Any jack recommendations for home garage work to lift the GX?

I like to use 6 ton jack stands for everything on the GX. Much wider base for stability and it doesn't have to be extended to the max just to keep the wheels off the ground. I use an Arcan 3 ton aluminum floor jack since I have other cars that can't take extended height jacks. It takes 8 full pumps to go from 4" to the max of 19" and lots of control when lowering it. I also keep a 10" block of 4x4 wood handy for added height if I ever need to jack from the frame rails. Most of the time I just lay the wood flat across the jack and lift from the rear diff or front skid.

I bought a set of 4 of these:
Amazon product ASIN B00026Z3DQ
They are double-locking and much safer than normal jackstands. The GX sits on them very securely. They are too tall for my other vehicles, however.

For a jack I've been happy with my HF Daytona jack. It works on everything from my low Mazda to the lifted GX.

I would also recommend that harbor freight jack, particularly the one with extended reach. Helps a lot if you lift the gx. I use the Esco jack stands, a bit expensive but worth every penny.

I use 14,000 pound forklift jack stands similar to these. A simple pin, 3/4" diameter that I can visually check. No ratcheting mechanism to fail and they have a very stable base. They are the perfect height to get the tires of the ground with a 2x12 base for protection of my coated floor.

Same. I have the HF jack and the Esco stands. I have 2 sets of inserts for the jack stands, one flat set and a cradle set.
